Our Brigade celebrated the presentation of important annual awards today.

The first award we presented was to our crewmember who attended the most incidents over the previous 12 months.

For the second year running, this has been awarded to Jasmine Deaves. Jas makes an enormous effort to
attend all manner of call outs.

She’s a really valuable member of our team and brings a great cross-section of skills, support and encouragement to the whole brigade

Our second annual award was for the President’s Citation.

The very worthy recipient for 2026 is John Unwin, who has held many brigade positions and has consistently worked behind the scenes to keep the brigade strong and our trucks and equipment in top condition.

This award recognises John’s outstanding service, across 40 years in a wide range of different roles in our Brigade.

Congratulations to Jasmine and John from all our crewmembers

A laptop bag was found close to our station this week, and we would like to reunite it with its owner.
If it is yours, and you can identify the contents to our satisfaction, please contact us through this page.
Bonus points if you can tell us how it ended up where it did.

🚒💧 Become a Hydrant Hero Today! 💧🚒

We often have community members ask what they can do to help, and there's a simple but very important way you can make a difference.

Our fire trucks can only carry a limited amount of water, so firefighters rely on being able to quickly connect to nearby fire hydrants to maintain a continuous water supply when fighting a fire.

You can help by becoming a Hydrant Hero and checking the hydrant closest to your home.

✅ Please make sure it is easy to access by removing any vegetation, overgrown grass, or other obstructions that could prevent firefighters from reaching and using it quickly.

If you live in the Wyee area and need assistance clearing around or identifying the location of your nearest hydrant, please send us a private message. Our volunteers will be more than happy to help.

A few minutes of your time could make a huge difference in an emergency.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe. ❤️🚒

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget. 🇦🇺

Wyee Rural Fire Brigade are hoping that our members and the community having a safe and happy long weekend.

With daylight savings coming to an end this morning, we are confident that your kids will appreciate the extra hour to consume their Easter goodies this year.

Now is the time to test your smoke alarm and change the battery.
Follow these simple steps:
◇ Use the end of a broom handle or safely get up on a chair to push the test button.
◇ If you don't hear anything, change the battery and test again.
◇ If after changing the battery you still don't hear anything then immediately replace the smoke alarm.

Batteries in your smoke alarm should be changed twice a year. A smoke alarm detector can double your chance of survival by warning you of a fire before its too late.
