Our members Tim, Justin and Lulu recently attended a rescue for a much-loved cat that had become stuck inside a wall, leaving its owner worried and missing their furry family member.

After some careful work and plenty of patience, the adventurous feline was safely reunited with its very relieved owner. 🏡💕

A great outcome for everyone involved and a reminder that sometimes our smallest rescues can make the biggest difference.

Well done on a successful rescue! 👏🚒🐾

💙🧡 Today, on Thank a First Responder Day, we would like to recognise and thank the incredible volunteers and emergency service personnel who dedicate their time to keeping our communities safe. 🚨🚑🚒

Whether responding to storms 🌩️, floods 🌊, road crashes 🚗, search and rescue operations 🔦, or supporting communities through emergencies, our first responders are there when they are needed most.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to all members of the SES, CFA, Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria, Fire Rescue Victoria and all emergency service organisations for your commitment, professionalism and service.

🚆🧡 Over the weekend, members of Wyndham West VICSES had the opportunity to take part in a Train Familiarisation session hosted by V/Line alongside fellow emergency service agencies including Victoria Police, CFA and FRV.

The session provided valuable hands-on learning and gave our volunteers greater insight into train operations, rail safety, emergency response procedures and the logistics involved in keeping Victoria’s transport network moving safely.

Thanks to the incredible V/Line team including Daniella, Brad, John and many others for sharing their knowledge and experience. Members learnt about train hazards, coupling and braking systems, passenger safety procedures, and the coordination required when trains are unable to continue on the tracks.

It was also an eye opening experience hearing about some of the challenges faced on the rail network, including incidents that can impact both tracks and trains, and how emergency services work together to support safe outcomes for the community.

Training opportunities like this strengthen our partnerships, improve our preparedness and highlight the important role SES volunteers play not only within our local community, but across the wider emergency response network.

A huge thank you to V/Line and all participating agencies for the collaboration and support. We are proud to continue learning, growing and working together to keep our communities safe. 🧡

🧡 Last night, three dedicated Wyndham West SES volunteers were proudly presented with their Service Awards in recognition of their commitment, hard work, and service to the community. 👏🚨

A big thank you to our special guests John Lister - Labor for Werribee Councillor Peter Maynard for joining us and helping celebrate this important milestone with our members. Your support means a lot to our unit. 🙌

Yesterday, our amazing volunteers Teresa and Anthony were at Manor Lakes Shopping Centre alongside Wyndham City Council talking all things emergency services and sharing tips on how to prepare, or be better prepared for emergencies.
