Who keeps a school running? It takes a pretty incredible team.

The ones who answer the phones, patch up scraped knees, find the missing hat, support a child through a tricky moment, help in classrooms, organise the million things happening behind the scenes - and somehow always know exactly who, what and where!

This PSA Schools Recognition Week, we’re celebrating our incredible School Administrative and Support Staff and the enormous contribution they make to Valley View every single day.

So much of what they do happens quietly and behind the scenes, but their impact is felt in every corner of our school. They know our students, care for our families and are always ready to step in wherever they are needed.

This year’s theme is “Thriving Schools Start With Us” - and we couldn’t agree more.

To our wonderful support staff: thank you. For the big things, the little things and the countless things that often go unnoticed. Your kindness, patience, dedication and care make Valley View a better place.

We are incredibly lucky to have you.

Indigenous Literacy Day

Our Kindergarten students were very lucky to welcome some wonderful students from Narara Valley High School to Valley View today to celebrate Indigenous Literacy Day!

Our visitors shared some beautiful stories with our Kindy students, making for a fun and engaging morning of reading, listening and learning together.

We were also excited to show our visitors around our Cultural Room and share this special space within our school.

A big thank you to the students and staff from Narara Valley High School for spending the morning with us and helping us celebrate the importance of stories, culture and connection.

VIEW START 2026 | Big School Starts Here!

Getting ready for Kindergarten is a big adventure - and View Start is here to make it a little easier!

Our transition to school program helps our 2027 Kindergarten students become familiar with Valley View, meet their teachers and new friends, and build confidence before their first day of big school.

📅 Five Wednesdays from 28 October
⏰ 10:00am–12:00pm

Our final session on 25 November will include a special View Start Graduation and Parent Information Session.

Another Fantastic Year of Debating at Valley View!

Two weeks ago, our two Valley View debating teams went head-to-head in their final debate of the regular Premier’s Debating Challenge competition.
The topic was: “That primary schools should start each day with a 30-minute exercise class.”

Valley View Fact Force took on the affirmative side, while Valley View Dynamite Debaters argued the negative.

It was easily one of our closest debates of the year! Both teams presented strong arguments, but the real highlight was the quality of the rebuttals. Our third speakers were particularly impressive, with both delivering over two minutes of rebuttal before wrapping up their team’s case.

After a very tight debate, the Dynamite Debaters were awarded the win, with the adjudicator finding their arguments and rebuttals just slightly stronger on the day.
But the bigger celebration is what both teams have achieved this year!

Valley View Fact Force
Competing together in the Premier’s Debating Challenge for the first time, Fact Force finished the competition with 2 wins from 4 debates. More importantly, they improved every single round. They listened to feedback, developed their arguments and rebuttals, and became stronger and more confident debaters each time they competed.

Valley View Dynamite Debaters
Returning for their second year in the competition, Dynamite Debaters have finished the regular rounds with an incredible 4 wins from 4 debates! This fantastic result has earned them a place in the knockout finals of the Premier’s Debating Challenge!

Their first finals debate will take place this Thursday, with more information to come tomorrow.

A massive congratulations to both teams. They have worked incredibly hard, supported each other and represented Valley View with confidence, respect and sportsmanship throughout the entire competition.

It is a little sad knowing that both teams will be heading off to high school next year, but hopefully this is only the beginning of their debating journeys!

You have certainly kept the Valley View name strong in the debating scene for another year.

A HUGE Thank You to Mrs Turner!

When Mrs Turner stepped in to take on our Book Fair at the very last minute, she absolutely ran with it - and WOW, what an incredible job she did!

The Book Fair looked amazing, our students loved every minute of it, and thanks to the incredible support of our Valley View families, we achieved a record result!

The rewards from the Book Fair will now be shared with our school, helping us continue to grow our resources for students.

A massive thank you to Mrs Turner for the time, energy and enthusiasm she put into making our Book Fair such a wonderful success. We appreciate you!

There was certainly no trouble finding Wally at Valley View today… they were EVERYWHERE! 👀😂

Our staff transformed into a sea of red and white stripes for our Book Week celebrations, and oh, what fun we had! 📚❤️

From Wallys in the playground to Wallys in the classrooms, our teachers and staff embraced the Book Week spirit and helped make the day extra special.

We’re not sure we’ve ever seen this many Wallys in one place! 🔎❤️🤍

Something beary special is coming to Valley View! 🐻

Join us for our Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Tuesday 15 September - a fun and relaxed morning for our future Kindergarten students and their families to come along, explore Valley View and start getting to know our school community.

🐻 Bring along your favourite teddy
🎶 Enjoy some songs, dancing and fun
🧺 Share a picnic morning tea
💛 Meet some new friends along the way!

A special Teddy Bears’ Picnic morning tea order will also be available through the canteen. Details will be emailed to all enrolled families. If you would like an order form sent to you, please contact the school office.
