Visit Fleurieu Coast

Visit Fleurieu Coast The Fleurieu Coast is located on the south west side of the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia. Nature is supreme in this part of the world.
(1)

The Fleurieu Coast stewards some 750 square kms of South Australia’s glorious Fleurieu Peninsula and includes the hamlets of Myponga, Yankalilla, Normanville, Carrickalinga, Wirrina Cove, Second Valley, Rapid Bay, Delamere, Deep Creek, Parawa, Inman Valley & Cape Jervis. From the high rainfall dairy country of Parawa to lush pine forests and pristine conservation parks, there’s more than 600 kms o

f roadways to explore. With 2,700 kms of seasonal and permanent watercourses and 80 kms of rugged coastline where hills meet sea, our rivers meet the cooling waters of Gulf St Vincent and Backstair’s Passage. And with 25 kms of clean sandy beaches it’s no wonder that 4,500 people choose to call this place home – farmers, artists, retirees and many thousands more weekend residents and seasonal holiday-makers. Experience the undiscovered bays and byways of the Fleurieu Coast – there’s more to melt the heart than meets the eye!

The students of Yankalilla Area School have been paying attention - to the ocean, to the whales, to the stories that belong to this Country. And all through June, you can see what they found. 🐋

Oceans of Wonder is a free, student-led art exhibition at the Visit Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre in Yankalilla, professionally displayed throughout the month and open to anyone who walks through the door.

Created through guided workshops, the artworks draw on the Ngarrindjeri people's deep connection to land and waters; bringing Kondoli the Whale, the Leafy Sea Dragon and other ocean beings to life through young eyes and original creative vision.

Bring the family. Bring the kids. Let the next generation show you this coast in a whole new way.

Nothing can top the serenity at Tapanappa Lookout 🌱🦅

This is the signature cliff top lookout in Deep Creek Conservation Park, with dramatic views over the Southern Ocean cliffs and across to Kangaroo Island!

While you’re there, learn about Kondoli, Keeper of Fire; stories presented along the accessible loop ngopun (walk).

💛 Reflecting on National Volunteer Week 💛 - WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!

We kicked off the week by treating our wonderful volunteer team to a famil at the beautiful Nan Hai Pu Tuo Temple of Australia at Sellicks Hill, where volunteers enjoyed learning more about the history and significance of this incredible local attraction, followed by lunch together.

Throughout the week, we also celebrated the amazing feedback our team received through the recent South Australian Visitor Information Servicing Network (SAVIN) survey. The results speak for themselves! If you haven’t already, make sure to check out our recent reel highlighting some of the lovely comments received - https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1CrQjpzHt3/

Throughout the week, volunteers were presented with personalised certificates of appreciation, recognising the unique qualities and contributions each individual brings to the Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre team.

National Volunteer Week was a great reminder that we are incredibly lucky to work alongside such incredible people. Thank you to our amazing volunteers for everything you do for our visitors, community and region 🎉🙌
