The Normanville Foreshore Northern Beach Access Ramp is reopening!

Repairs are complete, the ramp has been checked and the fencing will be removed this Friday, 4 September.

Even better – the repair works have been completely covered by Council’s insurance.

Thank you for your patience while the access ramp was closed following the coastal storms of 2025.

See you at the beach!

The Operation Flinders to Fleurieu Rally team has made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s event following the impact of recent weather on roads and communities across the rally route.

While it’s disappointing to see the rally delayed, we understand and support the decision.

The good news is the rally is not cancelled! It is expected to return to the Fleurieu next year, with new dates to be announced by the organisers in the coming week.

We look forward to welcoming competitors, officials and supporters to our district.

A reminder to keep your vehicle secure

SAPOL has recently provided an update on crime trends across the broader region, noting an increase in reports of theft from and interference with motor vehicles.

While there is no need for alarm, it’s a good reminder to take a few simple steps to help keep your vehicle and belongings secure:

• Lock your vehicle, even when it is parked in your driveway.
• Take your keys with you and check your vehicle is locked before walking away.
• Avoid leaving valuables or other items that may attract attention visible inside your vehicle.
• Where possible, park in a secure, well-lit location.

A few simple precautions can help reduce the opportunity for theft.

Updated dates – Cape Jervis boat ramp closure

Please note the dates for the Cape Jervis boat ramp closure have changed.

Following an update from SeaLink, the Cape Jervis boat ramp will now be closed to all users from Monday 12 October to Friday 30 October 2026 (inclusive) to allow the final stage of the Cape Jervis Ferry Terminal upgrade to be completed.

The Kangaroo Island ferry service is now planned to be suspended from Tuesday 20 October to Thursday 22 October 2026 (inclusive) while the new ferry ramp and turning dolphin are installed.

To help minimise disruption for the boating community, the Wirrina boat ramp will be available free of charge from 12 to 30 October 2026.

For more information about the Kangaroo Island Ferry Service, including frequently asked questions about the transition, visit www.sealink.com.au/kifs.
