Initial shipments of fresh Philippine Carabao mangoes will arrive in the first half of June 2026. Distribution is expected across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and other parts of Australia through selected retailers, produce wholesalers, Asian grocers, foodservice operators, and hospitality partners as seasonal supply continues to expand throughout the country.

The return of Philippine Carabao mangoes to Australia highlights the continuing growth of Philippine agriculture and trade with Australia and offers Filipino-Australian consumers access to one of the Philippinesโ€™ best-known fruit exports.

The 2026 rollout delivers an enhanced offering for consumers, with a focus on high-quality fruit from arrival through to retail. It features refined grading standards, upgraded export packaging, improved cold-chain handling and elevated retail presentation for a premium experience throughout the season.

Beyond commercial opportunity, the programme also supports thousands of Filipino farming families and regional agricultural communities throughout the Philippines. Behind every shipment are growers, orchard workers, packing facilities, logistics teams, and exporters all working together to deliver premium-quality fruit to international consumers.

As Philippine Carabao mangoes are available only during a limited seasonal window, consumers are encouraged to monitor announcements from participating retailers and distributors regarding product availability.

Consumers, retailers, wholesalers, and hospitality partners interested in securing supply for the 2026 season are encouraged to visit the official Carabao Mango Australia website www.carabaomango.au, for updates, product information, and pre-order enquiries. - END

07 May 2026, BROOME - As part of the celebration of the Philippines-Australia Friendship and the 80th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations, Philippine Ambassador to Australia H.E. Antonio Morales visited Broome to honor the legacy of the Manilamen.

The Manilamen were pioneering Filipino seafarers and labor migrants whose journeys across global maritime routes led them to northern Australia in the 19th century. Long before the establishment of formal diplomatic relations, Filipino pearl divers, sailors, and workers were already contributing to the growth of Broomeโ€™s maritime and pearling industries. Many settled in the region, formed families with Indigenous Australians, and helped establish some of the earliest Filipino communities outside the Philippines.

Ambassador Morales met with descendants of the Manilamen and members of the contemporary Filipino-Australian community in Broome. The community engagement was held together with Dr. Deborah Ruiz Wall, author of โ€œReimagining Australia: Voices of Indigenous Australians of Filipino Descent.โ€

Among those present was Mr. Kevin Puertollano, a Yawuru Elder and descendant of Thomas Puertollano, a Manilaman from Marinduque. Mr. Puertollano shared his family's journey of tracing its roots back to the Philippines and his ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the history of the Manilamen in Broome.

In his remarks, Ambassador Morales emphasized that the story of the Manilamen forms an important chapter in the shared history of the Philippines and Australia. He emphasized the importance of sharing the story of the Manilamen as it highlights the long history of Filipino migration to Australia dating back to the 1860s; recognizes the contributions of Filipino settlers and their descendants to Australia's multicultural society; and also reflects the shared indigenous heritage and long-standing maritime links of the Philippines and Australia.

Dr. Wall traced the history of the Manilamen from their arrival in Australia to their contributions to nation-building in the Philippines and economic development in Australia. The Manilamen were highly instrumental in the formation of the Catholic faith in the Kimberley region.

Filipino community leader Ms. Joenna Fronda emphasized the importance of support by the new Filipino settlers (i.e. Filipino workers and their families who arrived in Broome in the last thirty years) for the descendants of the Manilamen to ensure that this shared history is preserved.

Throughout his visit, Ambassador Morales also visited the Pearl Luggers Museum, Broome Historical Society and Museum, the RSL Club (which served as the Manila Club in the 1930s) and Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral to learn more about the historical presence and contributions of the Manilamen descendants in Broome.

To learn more about the history and legacy of the Manilamen, visit the Embassyโ€™s virtual exhibition, โ€œBeyond Borders: Voices of Indigenous Australians of Filipino Descentโ€ at https://cultural.philembassy.org.au/phinau/beyond-borders. - END

05 May 2026, PERTH - Philippine Ambassador to Australia, H.E. Antonio Morales, joined the Philippine mining executives in inviting members of the Australian Mining Equipment, Technology, and Services sector to explore investment opportunities in the Philippines during a Resources Forum organized by the Australia Philippines Business Council (APBC) at the sidelines of the Global Resources Innovation Expo (GRX2026) in Perth.

The event brought together representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry, Austrade and companies across key industries including mining, legal services, professional services, and renewable energy. The PH business delegation consisted of representatives from Sagittarius Mines, APEX Mining and Carmen Cooper.

In his remarks, Ambassador Morales highlighted the 80th anniversary of Philippines-Australia relations and the deepening Strategic Partnership focused on expanding trade and investment in critical minerals, green energy, agriculture, and skills development. He underscored the Philippinesโ€™ substantial untapped mineral wealth, alongside sustained reforms to strengthen investor confidence such as the development of a National Policy Framework for a Critical Minerals Industry to support responsible extraction, value-added processing, and long-term industrial upgrading.

Director Rose Marie Mendoza of the Board of Investments discussed the Philippinesโ€™ regulatory framework, investment pathways, and priority sectors for mining and mineral development. Foreign investors may hold up to 40% equity in Mineral Agreements, while 100% foreign ownership is permitted under Financial or Technical Assistance Agreements and for Mineral Processing Permits.

Catherine Gallagher, Austrade Southeast Asia General Manager, highlighted the Asia Economic Strategy to 2040 and its focus on strengthening regional economic engagement and development opportunities across Southeast Asia. Dr. Robert Trzebski of Austrmine emphasized the role of the METS sector in advancing innovation, productivity, and operational efficiency in the global mining industry.

The first panel on Regulations, Policies for Investments, and Future Opportunities for Mineral Processing in the Philippines was moderated by Philippines Australia Business Council President Dennis Quintero and featured Luis Sarmiento (APEX Mining), Craig Annison (Xcalibur Smart Mapping), and Roy Deveraturda (Sagittarius Mines) as panellists.

The second panel on โ€œCreating Competitive Edge with Resilient Supply Chains and Responsible Miningโ€ was moderated by APBC Director Virma Symons and featured Yulo Perez (Carmen Copper), Matthew Pilbeam (NRW Holdings), and Ben Farquharson (DESWIK) as panellists.

The Philippines has 9 million hectares of mineral potential and is the world's top exporter of nickel ore and concentrates, accounting for over $1.8 billion in global trade. The country is also rich in chromite, copper and gold deposits.

With a number of Australian mining companies already operating in the Philippines, there is significant opportunity to deepen cooperation with Australiaโ€™s global leadership in ESG standards, innovation, and sustainable mining practices and the Philippinesโ€™ reform agenda and commitment to responsible resource development. - END
