Yenda Public School Yenda Public School is in the Riverina Region of New South Wales and has been in operation since 1920.

Since the school was first established, we have seen many generations of families educated at our school. We have a proud tradition of teaching children to be respectful, responsible, resilient learners in a positive environment. The school has a population of 108 students ranging from Kindergarten through to Year 6, across five classes. We provide quality teaching and learning programs, particula

rly in Literacy and Numeracy. All students are provided with teaching and learning experiences that cater for their individual needs. Student wellbeing is a high priority at Yenda Public School. We have a strong and effective Learning and Support Team (LST).

MATHEMATICS TO THE RESCUE!!
In KQ our Math Heroes, (Zero and Hero), brought our class a maths activity with a special treat. For our 80th day of school KQ decomposed numbers into tens and ones with the help of lollies. The raspberry twists representing the tens and smarties representing the ones. Kindergarten had so much fun breaking down large numbers into smaller groups and then rewarding themselves with a sweet treat.

Last Friday during a lesson on healthy food choices, Mrs Brown explained to 2/3P how excited she was with her new lunchbox. Every student then went on to design a healthy lunch for her to pack this week. It was a hard decision, with all students putting in a mighty effort.
Well done to Alexis who came up with great choices and a fantastic sentence! Mrs Brown used Alexis’ design to pack her lunch today. The class’ suggestions have been made into a book for the classroom as a reminder of this real world learning.

💙 Brownies, Beanies and Cocoa 💙

Today we held our Term 2 SRC fundraiser to raise money for Beanies 4 Brain Cancer. It was wonderful to see so many students and staff wearing their beanies and supporting this important cause.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day a success. A special thank you to our SRC, Mrs Viselli and Mrs Cunningham for all their hard work in organising the event.

Today we held our school Spelling Bee, and what a fantastic event it was!

Congratulations to all of the students and teachers who participated. It was wonderful to see everyone challenging themselves, supporting one another, and having fun along the way.
