STATIONERY STASH DONATIONS NEEDED>>Our YSHS Stationery Stash is running low!

Help us restock and support our students and staff throughout the year by donating new or gently used stationery.

Where to donate: School Office or Donation box next to the Stationery Stash, near Ms Haswell’s office

WHAT DO WE NEED?
-Exercise books, grid books and visual diaries
-Pens, pencils, coloured pencils, markers and highlighters
-Whiteboard markers
-Calculators and maths sets
-Erasers and sharpeners
-Folders, pouches, clipboards and document wallets
-Pencil cases and rulers

A LITTLE EXTRA GOES A LONG WAY!

When buying school supplies or sorting through stationery at the end of the year, consider adding an extra item to your book list order or donating stationery you no longer need.

FAB Friday>> LOUD SHIRT DAY at YERONGA!

Our Yeronga staff brought the COLOUR and turned up the volume on style for FAB Friday! We could see bright T-shirts and colourful dresses, vibrant shoes and statement earrings, our staff proved that when it comes to Loud Shirt Day, the louder, the better!

Beyond the colourful outfits, we’re raising awareness for people who are deaf or hard of hearing, including those who use cochlear implants and hearing technology.
A big thank you to everyone who got involved and helped us celebrate this important cause while bringing some extra colour and fun to our school community! 😊💚💛

China Study Tour 2026 | Culture, Connection and Discovery >> Three incredible cities. New experiences. Unforgettable memories.

Our Yeronga SHS students enjoyed an extraordinary adventure through Beijing, Shanghai and Xi’an, exploring remarkable landmarks, discovering Chinese traditions, tasting new foods and embracing the richness of another culture.

A special school visit provided the opportunity to connect with local students and experience a different learning environment, creating meaningful connections beyond the classroom.

Wearing traditional Chinese attire, exploring remarkable landmarks, trying new foods and sharing adventures with friends made this journey truly memorable.

ARBOR DAY 2026 AT YERONGA🌱

To celebrate the 136th Arbor Day on Tuesday 13 October, our Yeronga State High School community got hands-on by planting a variety of native plants across our school grounds! 🌿

From shrubs and ground covers to feature trees, every plant helps grow Brisbane’s urban forest, supports our unique wildlife and contributes to a greener, healthier city.

It was also a great opportunity for our students to discuss the importance of trees and the many ways they enrich our families, school, neighbourhood and wider community.

Together, we’re growing a greener future, one plant at a time! 😊💚💛

ARTS ACADEMY - QLD SCHOOL OF FILM AND TV >> Last Term Queensland School of Film and Television has been working with the Arts Academy Media Arts students to develop story ideas and learn how to film a production, part of Arts Academy’s commitment to industry engagement and learning for our young artists.

Firstly, professional film makers guided the students in short film making and storytelling at workshop session one and session two, the students attended QSFT and learned how to put one of their stories into production!

Our second session with QSFT found us in their film studio where the group of year 7s to 9s Arts Academy students took a 1 page script that Mia, Taylor and Josie created and brought it to life in front of the cameras. Students made creative decisions across the whole process and took turns taking up production roles, Director, Gaffer, Camera Operators, 1st Assistant Director and Actors.

A huge thank you to QSFT for sharing their expertise and inspiring our aspiring filmmakers!

Keep your eyes peeled for the finished film, edited by Josie and her team, which will be showcased at our upcoming Arts Showcase! 😊💚💛

STUDENT SUCCESS | UQ YOUNG ACHIEVERS PROGRAM 💚💛 >> A huge congratulations to Mariam, Narges, Kate and Farzad, who received their awards at The University of Queensland (UQ) last week in recognition of their selection for the Young Achievers Program (YAP)!

We are especially proud to celebrate Mariam, who continues her journey as a Year 12 Young Achiever, and welcome our new Year 10 Young Achievers, Narges, Kate and Farzad.

UQ’s Young Achievers Program supports students as they prepare for university, offering financial assistance, mentoring, leadership development, on-campus experiences and guidance with university applications.

These opportunities help our students build confidence, explore their aspirations and take positive steps towards their future goals.

Congratulations to all four students on this outstanding achievement! We look forward to following your journeys and celebrating your successes along the way. 😊💚💛
