With current extreme heat and bushfires in the broader region, GV Health is on standby for increased demand in our Emergency Department.

We ask that community members only come to the Emergency Department for conditions that are urgent or life-threatening.

For conditions that are not urgent or life-threatening, a number of alternative services are available, including:

The Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (previously known as the Priority Primary Care Centre), located at 49 Graham Street, Shepparton. Visit: https://shepmed.mthc.com.au/mucc/

The Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED), visit: https://www.vved.org.au/patients/

For other services available, please see our Alternative Health Services guide at:https://www.gvhealth.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Alternative-Services-Liftout-T44-2025.pdf

For real-time updates on current demand at our ED and expected wait times, please visit https://www.gvhealth.org.au/our-services/wards/emergency-department/
