To ensure the development of viticulture and winemaking on a scientific basis, the Azerbaijani Scientific Research Institute of Viticulture and Wine-making was established in 1976 and since march 1977 it has been functioning.

Üzümçülük və Şərabçılıq Elmi-Tədqiqat İnstitutunun əməkdaşları –a.e.f.d.,dosent Rauf Əsədullayev, t.e.f.d., dosent Mövlud Hüseynov, "Bitkiçilik" ixtası üzrə doktorant Aynurə Quliyeva, "Qida məhsullarının texnologiyası" ixtisası üzrə doktorant Leyla Eyyubova, UNEC-in doktorantı Ümide Məcnunlu və Şəhanə Süleymanlı 27–29 noyabr 2025-ci il tarixlərində Bakı şəhərində təşkil olunan “Mühəndislik və tətbiqi elmlərin aktual problemləri” (ICCPEAS) I Beynəlxalq Elmi-praktiki Konfransda fəal iştirak ediblər.
Konfrans Azərbaycan Dövlət İqtisad Universitetinin (UNEC) ev sahibliyi ilə, həmçinin Orta Doğu Texniki Universiteti (OTDÜ), Ufa Dövlət Neft Texnologiyaları Universiteti (USPTU) və Özbəkistan Elmlər Akademiyasının S.A. Əzimov adına Fizika-Texniki İnstitutunun (PhTI) birgə təşkilatçılığı ilə həyata keçirilib.
İnstitut əməkdaşlarının konfrans çərçivəsində öz tədqiqat istiqamətləri üzrə hazırladıqları elmi məqalələri konfransın materiallar toplusunda dərc olunmaq üçün qəbul edilib. Bu iştirak institut əməkdaşlarının elmi fəaliyyətinin beynəlxalq platformada tanıdılması və tədqiqat nəticələrinin geniş elmi ictimaiyyətə çatdırılması baxımından mühüm əhəmiyyət kəsb edir.

On October 10, a presentation event for the winners of the Technology Transfer Project was held with the participation of representatives from the High Technologies Park, the Education Development Fund and SABAH.HUB.
During the event, the winning teams presented their projects and showcased their prototypes. Participants raised questions regarding the technical and innovative aspects of the projects, while the current results and upcoming stages were thoroughly discussed.
The purpose of the meeting was to assess the current stage of the projects’ development, define the next steps, and foster stronger collaboration among the partner organizations.

🇬🇧 Within the framework of Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training in the South Caucasus Programme (PSD TVET) commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, both online and field seminars in Ismayilli and Salyan were held for State Agrarian Development Centres (SADC) in order to strengthen their capabilities to support MSMEs in the viticulture by providing Know-How in advisory services and by applying innovative techniques and technologies. The program provided hydraulic field cultivators and sprayers to the SADCs. As a result of their application in the vineyards of 9 selected farmers, the cost of production decreased by 50%, and the productivity increased.
🇩🇪 Im Rahmen des vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) beauftragten Programms „Privatwirtschaftsentwicklung und Berufsbildung im Südkaukasus“ (PSDTVET) wurden für staatliche Agrarentwicklungszentren (SAEZ) in Ismajilli und Saljan Online-Seminare sowie Feld-Trainings durchgeführt. Das Ziel dieser Seminare bestand in Weiterentwicklung der Kompetenzen von staatlichen Agrarentwicklungszentren (SAEZ) und Verbesserung derer Beratungsdienstleistungen an Kleinst-, Kleine und Mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) durch Vermittlung von Know-how und Einsatz innovativer Techniken und Technologien im Weinbau. Das Programm hat die Agrarentwicklungszentren mit hydraulischen Grubbern und mit Feldspritzen versorgt. Durch die Anwendung dieser Technik wurden die Produktionskosten im Weinanbau in neun ausgewählten Feldwirtschaften um 50% reduziert, auch die Produktivität ist gestiegen.

🇦🇿 Almaniya İqtisadi Əməkdaşlıq və İnkişaf Nazirliyi tərəfindən maliyyələşən “Cənubi Qafqazda Özəl Sektorun İnkişafı və Peşə Təhsili və Təlimi” proqramı çərçivəsində, İsmayıllı və Salyan rayonlarında Dövlət Aqrar İnkişaf Mərkəzləri (DAİM) üçün innovativ həll yolları və texnologiyaları tətbiq edərək və məsləhət xidmətində yeni bacarıqları təmin etməklə, Mikro, kiçik və orta sahibkarlıq subyektlərinə dəstək olmaları yönündə həm onlayn, həm də tarla seminarları təşkil olunub. Layihə DAİM-ləri hidravlik tarla kultivator və çiləyicilər ilə təmin edib. Bu texnologiyaların seçilmiş 9 fermerin üzüm sahələrində istifadəsi nəticəsində, məhsulun maya dəyəri 50 faizə qədər azalmış və məhsuldarlıq artmışdır.

Azerbaijan (Republic of Azerbaijan) is located in Southern Caucasus, 38°25' - 41°55' latitude and 44°50'-50°51' longitude. It borders on Iran and Turkey to the south, Dagestan (Russia) to the north, on Georgia to the north-west and on Armenia to the south-west. The Caspian Sea is situated to the east of the country.

The territory of Azerbaijan is 86,600 km2 . Forests cover 11 % of its territory, 1.6 % is covered by water basins, 50 % by cultivated land and the rest is covered by other land. One of Azerbaijan's main features is the exceptional diversity in flora and fauna, climate, soil, minerals, underground water, etc. It is mainly a mountainous country, but besides the high peaks above the snow line such as Bazarduzu (4466 m a.s.l.), Shahdag (4251 m a.s.l.) and Tufandag (4197 m a.s.l.), there are also wide plains and lowlands, some of which are located 26 m below the sea level. Basic elements of the Azerbaijani relief are the Large Caucasus Range, the Small Caucasus Range, the Cura-Araks lowland and the Tallish Mountain System.

There is a very rich flora in Azerbaijan and 66 % of all the Caucasian species are represented, including: 800 essential oil-yielding plants, 600 medicinal plants, 500 spicy-aromatic plants, 500 plants rich in vitamin, 850 dyeing plants and 1500 tanning plants. Azerbaijan is rich in relict plants dating back to the Tertiary period. Specimens of these plants can often be found in many areas and particularly in the territory of Tallish, e.g. the Iron tree (Parrotia petrsica C.A.Mey.), Acacia (Albizzia julibrissin Durazz.), Chestnut-leaved oak (Quercus castanifolia C.A.Mey.) and the Caucasus Persimmon tree (Diospyros lotus L.).

Such a diversity of flora and plants is attributed to Azerbaijan’s physical, geographical and climatic conditions, as well as to its complex history. The climate of Azerbaijan is characterized by diversity, as there are 8 main climates and 26 particular climate zones.

Azerbaijan is one of the most ancient centers of origin of grape culture. N.I.VAVILOV and other researchers have shown that Asia Minor - including Azerbaijan - is the homeland of grapevine cultivation. It has been determined that one of the main centers of origin of grapevine varieties, cultivated in Europe and Asia, is a territory located between the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea.
