The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Walid Haggag, was pleased to welcome to Sarajevo a high level Egyptian delegation led by the Minister of State for Military Production, H.E. Dr. Salah Soliman Gomblat, who is participating in the First Balkan Shield Defence Industry Expo and Exhibition being held in Sarajevo from 1 to 4 September 2026.
Egypt's level of participation in the Expo was the highest among the several other countries participating in this event, which is a reflection of the strength of the bilateral partnership between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Egypt's commitment to further advance its cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina in all areas of common interest, in particular in the arena of military and defence collaboration.
Egypt also participated in the Expo with a dedicated national pavilion showcasing a multitude of military products and defence equipment produced by the Ministry of Military Production and the affiliate companies and organizations under its umbrella.
During his visit to Sarajevo, Minister Gomblat held an official bilateral meeting with the Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Mr. Zukan Helez, where both sides discussed the possibilities of advancing the bilateral cooperation between both sides, especially within the framework of the recently concluded Agreement on Cooperation in the field of Defence between the Government of Egypt and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minister Gomblat also met with the Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry, H.E. Mr. Vedran Lakic, where they exchanged views on the opportunities to further strengthen and expand the existing partnerships between Egypt and the defence industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Egyptian delegation also held a series of meetings and successful discussions with the representatives of the defence industry companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a view towards enhancing the ongoing collaboration and partnerships between the two sides.

Ambasador Arapske Republike Egipta, Nj. E. Walid Haggag, sa zadovoljstvom je u Sarajevu ugostio visoku egipatsku delegaciju koju je predvodio državni ministar za vojnu proizvodnju, Nj. E. dr Salah Soliman Gomblat, koji učestvuje na sajmu pod nazivom "First Balkan Shield Defence Industry Expo and Exhibition“, koji se u Sarajevu održava od 1. do 4. septembra 2026. godine.
Nivo učešća Egipta na Sajmu bio je najviši u odnosu na nekoliko drugih zemalja koje učestvuju na ovom događaju, što predstavlja odraz snage bilateralnog partnerstva između Egipta i Bosne i Hercegovine, kao i posvećenosti Egipta daljem unapređenju saradnje sa Bosnom i Hercegovinom u svim oblastima od zajedničkog interesa, posebno u oblasti vojne i odbrambene saradnje.
Egipat je na Sajmu učestvovao i sa posebnim nacionalnim paviljonom, na kojem je predstavljena brojna vojna proizvodnja i odbrambena oprema koju proizvodi Ministarstvo vojne proizvodnje, kao i kompanije i organizacije koje djeluju u njegovom sastavu.
Tokom posjete Sarajevu, ministar Gomblat održao je zvanični bilateralni sastanak sa zamjenikom predsjedavajućeg Savjeta ministara i ministrom odbrane Bosne i Hercegovine, Nj. E. gospodinom Zukanom Helezom, tokom kojeg su dvije strane razgovarale o mogućnostima za unapređenje bilateralne saradnje, posebno u okviru nedavno zaključenog Sporazuma o saradnji u oblasti odbrane između Vlade Egipta i Savjeta ministara Bosne i Hercegovine.
Ministar Gomblat sastao se i sa federalnim ministrom energije, rudarstva i industrije, Nj. E. g. Vedranom Lakićem, sa kojim je razmijenio mišljenja o mogućnostima za dalje jačanje i proširivanje postojećih partnerstava između Egipta i namjenske industrije Bosne i Hercegovine.
Egipatska delegacija održala je i niz sastanaka i uspješnih razgovora sa predstavnicima kompanija namjenske industrije u Bosni i Hercegovini, sa ciljem unapređenja postojeće saradnje i partnerstava između dvije strane.
