International Firefighters' Day (IFFD) is observed on May 4, to honour firefighters for their service internationally, remember firefighters who lost their lives during service and to commemorate firefighters killed in the September 11 attacks.

Happy Easter to our Junior Firefighter families,

We do hope this message finds you well and enjoying the blessings of the season.

After careful consideration, we regret to inform you that the Junior Firefighter Challenge and Family Fun Day have been postponed. This decision was not made lightly. It was taken with your children at the forefront of our minds, to ensure that when this experience takes place, it is truly enjoyable, memorable, and impactful.

Our goal is for every child to leave the experience with a lasting impression of what it truly means to be a firefighter, the value of teamwork, service, discipline, and always giving your very best. At this time, postponing allows us to better deliver the meaningful and enriching experience your children deserve.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. A new date will be shared in the near future, and we greatly look forward to celebrating together then.

Until that time, we wish you and your families a joyful and peaceful Easter, and we hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Members of the Barbados Fire Service were proud to participate in today’s Career Showcase at Coleridge & Parry School. Students had the opportunity to meet firefighters, learn about the profession, explore firefighting equipment, and even try on some of the protective gear.
