Beneath every road, every village, and every coastline in Barbados lies a foundation that must be understood, managed, and protected.

As geologists in the Natural Resources Department of the Ministry of Energy, Business Development and Consumer Affairs, our work goes beyond mere observation of the Earth and the processes that shape it. We assess coastal stability, inspect lands to ensure safe development, monitor geological hazards, and promote the sustainable use of the island’s energy resources - all critical to building a more resilient Barbados.

This Earth Day, we recognise that protecting and preserving our environment requires the collective action and commitment of all Barbadians.

Our Power. Our Planet.
