The Fair Trading Commission (the Commission) has concluded its review of SurePay's proposed over-the-counter convenience fee and has determined that the charge falls outside its regulatory authority under the Consumer Protection Act.

The Commission also found that proper disclosure was provided via signage and that fee-free alternative payment channels remain available. The Commission further noted that there were no breaches of the Utilities Regulation Act.

Should you have any queries pertaining to this matter, please give us a call at 424-0260 or alternatively you can email us at [email protected] with SurePay at subject.

Today is World Water Day 2026. 💧

This year's theme is ‘Water and Gender’ – “Where Water Flows, Equality Grows"

It is recognised that the global water crisis is not just an environmental issue - it is a gender equality crisis. In many parts of the world, women and girls spend hours every single day collecting water. However, when we secure safe, accessible water, we unlock the potential of half the world's population. Because where water flows, equality grows.

Let’s campaign for sustainable solutions that empower women and ensure clean water for all.
