Author Spotlight: Henderson Alleyne

The National Library Service is pleased to highlight Barbadian author Henderson Alleyne, who recently made a legal deposit of his book, “Barbados to Britain & Back: How I Did It”, to the National Library Service.

The book chronicles Alleyne’s remarkable life journey between his native Barbados and Britain. More than a recounting of one man’s experiences, it is a powerful reflection on perseverance, determination, resilience and the courage to pursue one’s goals despite life’s challenges.

Through his personal story, Alleyne shares the experiences, hardships and milestones that shaped his journey, offering readers an opportunity to reflect on the strength it takes to overcome adversity and keep moving forward.

A legal deposit is an important contribution to Barbados’ literary and cultural heritage, helping to preserve the stories, experiences and publications of Barbadian authors for present and future generations.

“Barbados to Britain & Back: How I Did It” is a reminder that our personal stories form an important part of our national story, and that every journey has something to teach the next generation.

Discover Barbadian authors. Discover Barbadian stories. Discover the power of reading.
