The Land Registry Department is an agency of the Government of Barbados. The Land Registry Department is an agency of the Government of Barbados which was established by section 4 of the Land Registration Act, Chapter 229 of the Laws of Barbados, primarily to maintain records of all land transactions which have occurred in the island. The Department falls under the Ministry of Housing, Lands and M

aintenance and is headed by the Registrar of Titles. Today, the functions of the Land Registry have been expanded to the following:

1. Managing the Registration of Instruments under the Land Registration Act

2. Recording and Processing of Deeds under the Property Act

3. Management of Condominiums

4. Restoration of Title Deeds

5. Transferring Tenantry lots under the Tenantries Freehold Purchase Act

6. Facilitating Title Searches

7. Providing Notarial Services
