না, এটি কোনো যুদ্ধবিধ্বস্ত দেশের দৃশ্য নয় এটি ঈদের আনন্দে ঘরে ফেরা শান্তিপ্রিয় বাংলাদেশের একটি সাধারণ দিনের নির্মম প্রতিচ্ছবি। যারা প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন, তারা প্রত্যেকেই ছিলেন আপনজনদের কাছে ফিরতে উদগ্রীব, এক বুক ভালোবাসা আর আনন্দ নিয়ে পথে বের হওয়া মানুষ। কিন্তু যেখানে অনিয়ম ও অব্যবস্থাপনা প্রতিনিয়ত বাস্তবতা, সেখানে এমন দুর্ঘটনা যেন অস্বাভাবিক নয়, বরং একপ্রকার নিয়মে পরিণত হয়েছে।
প্রশ্ন থেকে যায় আর কত প্রাণ ঝরলে আমরা সচেতন হবো? মৃত মানুষগুলোর অপরাধ কী ছিল? কেন আজও এই দেশে ঘর থেকে বের হলে জীবিত বা অক্ষত অবস্থায় ফিরে আসার নিশ্চয়তা নেই? একটি রাষ্ট্রব্যবস্থার মৌলিক দায়িত্ব নাগরিকের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা, অথচ বারবার আমরা তার ব্যর্থতার করুণ উদাহরণ প্রত্যক্ষ করছি।
দৌলতদিয়া ফেরিঘাটে বাস নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে অর্ধশতাধিক যাত্রীসহ নদীতে পতিত হওয়ার এই মর্মান্তিক ঘটনায় ইতোমধ্যে ২৩ জনের নিথর দেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। প্রতিটি প্রাণহানি কেবল একটি সংখ্যা নয় একটি পরিবার, একটি স্বপ্ন, একটি পৃথিবীর অবসান।
আর কত লাশের মিছিল হলে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ, সরকার ও প্রশাসন কার্যকরভাবে জেগে উঠবে? কবে আমরা একটি সুশৃঙ্খল, দায়িত্বশীল ও নিরাপদ ব্যবস্থাপনা কাঠামো দেখতে পাবো?
আমরা ‘প্রজেক্ট বাংলাদেশ ফাউন্ডেশন’ পরিবার গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করছি এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল কর্তৃপক্ষের কাছে জোর দাবি জানাচ্ছি দুর্ঘটনার পুনরাবৃত্তি রোধে কঠোর ও বাস্তবসম্মত পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করতে হবে, এবং সেগুলোর কার্যকর বাস্তবায়ন নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। এখনই সময়, এই ভেঙে পড়া সিস্টেমকে পুনর্গঠনের।

Those who lost their lives were simply on their way back to their loved ones, carrying happiness and anticipation. But in a system where irregularities and mismanagement are routine, such disasters no longer seem extraordinary—they have, alarmingly, become almost normal.
The question remains: how many more lives must be lost before we become truly aware? What was the fault of those who died? Why is there still no guarantee that a person who leaves home will return alive and unharmed? Ensuring the safety of citizens is one of the fundamental responsibilities of any state, yet time and again we are forced to witness its painful failure.
In this heartbreaking incident at Daulatdia ferry terminal, a bus lost control and plunged into the river carrying over fifty passengers. So far, 23 lifeless bodies have been recovered. Each life lost is not just a number—it is a family shattered, a dream extinguished, an entire world brought to an end.
How many more processions of dead bodies will it take for the concerned authorities, the government, and the administration to truly awaken and act? When will we finally see a disciplined, accountable, and safe system in place?
