শোকাবহ আগস্টের প্রথম প্রহরে জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান এবং ১৫ আগস্টের সকল শহীদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি জানিয়ে চট্টগ্রাম মহানগর ছাত্রলীগের উদ্যোগে মোমবাতি প্রজ্জ্বলন কর্মসূচি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

বিনম্র শ্রদ্ধায় স্মরণ করা হয় স্বাধীনতার মহান স্থপতি বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান, বঙ্গমাতা শেখ ফজিলাতুন্নেছা মুজিব, শেখ কামাল, শেখ জামাল, শিশু শেখ রাসেল এবং ১৫ আগস্টের সকল শহীদকে।তাঁদের আত্মত্যাগ বাঙালি জাতির ইতিহাসে চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে। তাঁদের আদর্শ ও অসাম্প্রদায়িক,গণতান্ত্রিক বাংলাদেশের স্বপ্ন বাস্তবায়নের প্রত্যয়ে আমরা অঙ্গীকারবদ্ধ।

ইতিহাসের কিছু ক্ষত কখনো শুকায় না। আগস্ট এলেই সেই শোক, সেই স্মৃতি, সেই বেদনা আবার ফিরে আসে আমাদের মাঝে। শোকের আগস্টের শুরুতে নীরব শ্রদ্ধায় স্মরণ করছি ইতিহাসের সেই কালো অধ্যায়কে, আর গভীর শ্রদ্ধায় স্মরণ করছি জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ও তাঁর পরিবারের আত্মত্যাগকে।
