Bangladesh visits Singapore
Dr. Md Sajjad Hossain Bhuiyan, Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), participated in a bilateral meeting with Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) Singapore today (24/09/2025).
The meeting was held at ACRA's Office, 55 Newton Road, #03-02 Revenue House, Singapore.
Representing the Financial Reporting Council, Mr. Anik Kumar Mallick, Standard-Setting Officer, Standards-Setting Division, was also present at the meeting.
From ACRA's side, the delegation was led by Ms. Kuldip Gil, Assistant Chief Executive. Other members of the delegation included Ms. Tan Wee Khim, Technical Director (Financial Reporting and Standards Development); Ms. Ng Meow Long, Technical Director (Inspection Department); Ms. Gowri Palaniappan, Deputy Technical Director (Sustainability Reporting Office); and four other officials.
The discussions covered the activities, responsibilities, and mandates of both FRC and ACRA Singapore, with particular focus on strengthening transparency & accountability in financial reporting and auditing, sustainability reporting, and eventually enhancing corporate governance frameworks.
The parties also exchanged views on accounting and auditing standards, digital reporting systems, professional development initiatives, and areas of mutual cooperation.
Both sides expressed strong interest about future collaboration through joint initiatives, technical exchanges, and knowledge-sharing programs. This engagement marks an important step in building a long-term cooperative relationship between FRC Bangladesh and ACRA Singapore, aimed at promoting good governance, accountability, and sustainable economic growth.
