🌱 Scaling Hope: Local Voices Driving Land Restoration and Resilience

As land degradation, desertification, and climate change continue to threaten millions of lives, the most effective and sustainable solutions are often born within communities themselves.

This side event will amplify the experiences, innovations, and leadership of grassroots organizations, Indigenous peoples, women, and youth who are restoring ecosystems and strengthening resilience on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

It is a great honor to represent Bangladesh and speak alongside distinguished global leaders, including representatives from Mongolia, Friendship Bangladesh, Drynet, Brahma Kumaris, and international experts committed to advancing Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) and community-led restoration.

This event reflects our belief that global commitments can only succeed when local voices are heard, respected, and empowered. The knowledge, resilience, and innovations of communities must be placed at the heart of global environmental governance.

Strengthening institutions is the foundation of creating sustainable impact:

Our CEO and team members from Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) Bangladesh are proud to participate in the two-day Capacity-Building Training on "Compliance, Financial Due Diligence, and Receiving Grants from Institutional Donors," organized under the SUSHIL Project and facilitated by the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), BRAC University.

As a youth-led organization committed to transparency, accountability, and excellence, we believe that strong institutional systems are essential to earning the trust of communities, donors, and partners. This training provides an important opportunity to strengthen our knowledge on compliance, financial governance, due diligence, and institutional readiness for engaging with international and institutional donors.

We sincerely appreciate the organizers for creating this valuable learning platform and bringing together grassroots civil society organizations to build stronger, more resilient, and sustainable institutions.

We look forward to applying these learnings to enhance DYDF's governance, improve our organizational systems, and expand our impact for the communities we serve.

At DYDF Bangladesh, we believe that strong organizations are built by strong leaders.

To strengthen the leadership, collaboration, and shared vision of our Secretariat team, we recently organized a two-day Leaders' Retreat in the beautiful wetland landscapes of Naogaon. This retreat brought together both experienced and emerging young leaders, creating a unique space for learning, trust-building, and strategic reflection.

Through immersive field visits to ecologically rich wetlands and natural resource areas, participants explored community-led solutions for climate resilience, environmental conservation, and sustainable local development. Interactive team discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and strategic planning exercises enabled us to strengthen internal collaboration while identifying priorities for the future.

By combining fresh perspectives with institutional experience, the retreat reinforced our commitment to building a resilient, inclusive, and impact-driven organization capable of responding to the growing challenges of climate change through locally led action.

We are sincerely grateful to all stakeholders for supporting this initiative and investing in youth leadership, organizational resilience, and community-driven climate solutions. Strengthening people and institutions is essential to creating lasting environmental and social impact.

We are delighted to announce that Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research-C3ER Brac, BRAC University.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in our shared commitment to advancing climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and youth leadership in Bangladesh.

Through this collaboration, DYDF and C3ER will work together to: 🌱 Promote knowledge sharing and evidence-based learning. 🤝 Strengthen institutional and community capacities. 📚 Develop joint research and innovative solutions. 🚀 Design and implement impactful climate resilience projects. 🌍 Foster partnerships that empower young people and vulnerable communities to address the climate crisis.

We are pleased to announce that Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation (DYDF) has officially signed an agreement with Net Land System Bangladesh to design and develop the Krishi Connect Platform under our ongoing project "Krishi Somriddhi" supported by Smile Together Partnership (STP), South Korea.

This strategic partnership marks an important milestone in our journey to strengthen digital innovation in agriculture and empower farmers with accessible, reliable, and timely information. The Krishi Connect Platform will serve as a user-centered digital solution aimed at enhancing agricultural services, market linkages, knowledge sharing, and communication among farmers and stakeholders.

Through this collaboration, DYDF and Net Land System Bangladesh will work together to create a platform that supports climate-resilient agriculture, improves productivity, and contributes to sustainable livelihoods for farming communities.
