Social Development Foundation Social Development Foundation (SDF) was established by the Ministry of Finance, Bangladesh on 27th November 2000 as an autonomous non- profit organization.

The government of Bangladesh (GoB) established SDF in 2000 under Ministry of Finance as an autonomous and ‘’not-for-profit’’ organisation which was registered under the Companies Act-1994 on 28th July 2001. SDF has been taking initiatives to empower the disadvantaged people in real terms putting the target communities at the driving seat since April 2003 with the support of the World Bank. It work

s through adopting community driven development approach (CDD), focusing to the entire rural community and empowering the voice of the poorest through community based institution building.
