BRP Pledges Unified Organisational Action Under the Leadership of Founder Chairman Mr Md Sohel Rana
A full organisational meeting of the Bangladesh Reformist Party (BRP) was held at a conference hall adjacent to Mirpur DOHS. The meeting was organised on the occasion of the return to Bangladesh of the Party’s Founder Chairman, Mr Md Sohel Rana. Central leaders and party members present at the meeting welcomed his return and collectively pledged to conduct the Party’s future organisational activities in unity under his leadership.
In the presence of the Party’s central leadership and with the unanimous consent of those attending, the Council formally declared Mr Md Sohel Rana as Chairman of the Bangladesh Reformist Party, Lion Mohammad Zahid Hossain Palash as Senior Vice Chairman, and Mr Md Nazmul Alam as Secretary General.
In accordance with the decision of the Council, the newly elected leadership will serve in their respective positions for a five-year term from 04 July 2026 to 04 July 2031. During this period, they will lead the Party’s organisational, political, and public welfare activities and work collectively to advance its objectives and nationwide development.
Under the newly elected leadership, the meeting expressed a firm commitment to building the Bangladesh Reformist Party into a stronger, better-organised, people-centred, and publicly engaged political organisation. The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to party discipline, democratic values, transparency, accountability, justice, and the protection of the rights and interests of the people of Bangladesh.
The meeting further adopted a policy decision to launch multiple online news channels as part of the Party’s broader media and public communication strategy. In addition, a decision was taken to develop initiatives aimed at supplying essential food products to the general public at affordable prices, taking into consideration the rising cost of living and the economic challenges faced by ordinary citizens. Detailed discussions were also held regarding future public welfare programmes and practical initiatives designed to support communities across Bangladesh.
Among those present at the meeting were Vice President Nazrul Islam Biswas, Mr Md Harunur Rashid, Advocate Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Tanzil Hossain Mirza, Mr Md Abu Helal Al Mamun, Alif Hossain Biplob, Mr Md Shafi, Mohammad Mithu, Mohammad Rahim Sheikh, Prokhor Mallik, and Shafik Bhai, along with numerous other leaders, activists, and members from different levels of the Party.
The leaders and members present at the meeting expressed their firm determination to work collectively to strengthen the organisational foundation of the Bangladesh Reformist Party, expand its activities nationwide, serve the interests of the people, and play an effective role in advancing justice, reform, democratic accountability, and public welfare throughout Bangladesh.
