স্পেন জুড়ে ইসলামের এক গভীর ও দ্রুত পুনরুত্থান ঘটছে। মাত্র গত তিন দশকে স্পেনে মুসলিম জনসংখ্যা দশগুণ বৃদ্ধি পেয়ে এখন ২৫ লক্ষেরও বেশি হয়েছে, যা সমগ্র দেশের জনসংখ্যার প্রায় ৫ শতাংশ। উত্তর আফ্রিকা ও দক্ষিণ এশিয়া থেকে প্রাণবন্ত অভিবাসন এবং ক্রমবর্ধমান সংখ্যক স্থানীয় স্প্যানিশ ধর্মান্তরিতদের প্রভাবে, ইসলামকে আর সুদূর অতীতের ইতিহাস হিসেবে দেখা হয় না, বরং একটি সমৃদ্ধ আধুনিক বাস্তবতা হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়। আজ, দেশজুড়ে প্রায় ২,০০০ সক্রিয় মসজিদ ও সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্র রয়েছে, যা কাতালোনিয়া ও মাদ্রিদের মতো শিল্পোন্নত কেন্দ্রগুলিতে নতুন প্রাণ সঞ্চার করছে এবং এই ঐতিহাসিক ধর্মকে স্পেনের সমসাময়িক পরিচয়ের এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ হিসেবে পুনঃপ্রতিষ্ঠা করছে।🇪🇸
