For seventeen years, the people of Bangladesh endured a regime marked by fear, suppression of dissent, and the erosion of justice. In July, however, the youth-led Quota Reform Movement ignited a spark that soon evolved into the broader Anti-Discrimination Movement.
As the state responded with force, the movement only grew stronger. What began as a call for reform transformed into a united demand for justice, accountability, and democratic values. On 5 August, thousands from every corner of the country marched toward Dhaka; not with weapons, but with courage, determination, and hope. Confronted by the collective voice of the people, the regime ultimately fell.
This was more than a political transition; it became a defining moment for an entire generation. It reaffirmed that dignity, justice, and freedom are values that cannot be compromised. We pay tribute to the brave souls; Mir Mugdho, Abu Sayed, Tahmid Tamim, Farhan Faiyazz, Riya Gop, and all who stood on the frontlines. Their sacrifices illuminated the nation's path toward a better future.
On this day, Shiroil Government High School Debating Club (SDC) remembers, reflects, and honors the spirit of those who stood for justice. Their courage continues to inspire future generations to speak with conviction, defend truth, and uphold the values of a free society.
