Sherpur IT Club

Sherpur, a small but beautiful city of Dhaka Division is situated to 190 KM north of Dhaka. This city which is blessed with enormous natural beauty, has a prolong history of traditional Bengali culture and heritage. But when the parameter is education or technology, Sherpur is poor unlike its natural beauty or cultural heritage. This age is known as the age of information technology which has made almost a level playing field for the developed and developing countries. A nation, in this age can never imagine developing unless its technology is developed and its citizens are technology aware. In order to make Sherpur technologically rich and to make its inhabitants technology aware, Sherpur IT club was established in 14 September 2010. Primarily this club was established to increase the rate of internet user in Sherpur. The pioneer of this club is Md. Golam Kibria Liton, The Then Mayor of Sherpur municipality and Present President of Sherpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry along with Malay Mohan Ball, Principal of S M Model School and Shahidul Islam Mukul, Principal of Mukul academy. The aim of this club is to create awareness among people to use internet, bring broadband internet connection in Sherpur, provide internet modem in low cost, make internet connection available in govt. schools and colleges, inspire people to make cyber cafe with modern amenities etc. We hope that if concerned people come forward to make the mass people aware, rate of internet user in Sherpur will be increased very soon. We believe that if we work hard to materialize our dream, one day Sherpur will be famous for bringing IT awareness in its inhabitants.
