Beani Bazar Cancer & General Hospital Hosts Grand Life Member Celebration & Gala Dinner 2026 at Meridian Grand, London
London, 24 May 2026 — The Beani Bazar Cancer & General Hospital proudly hosted its Life Member Celebration & Gala Dinner 2026 at the prestigious Meridian Grand, London, bringing together community leaders, philanthropists, healthcare professionals, business sponsors, and supporters from across the United Kingdom.
With more than 500 guests in attendance, the evening celebrated the Charity’s ongoing mission to provide accessible healthcare services in Bangladesh, including cancer treatment, diagnostics, and general medical care for disadvantaged communities.
A Night of Inspiration, Recognition & Community Unity
The evening commenced with a warm welcome reception, followed by a captivating musical performance led by legendary vocalist Lucy Rahman, accompanied by acclaimed musicians Ustad Yousuf Ali Khan and Louise Elliot. Their performance created a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere for the guests.
The event was hosted by renowned British-Asian actor and presenter Abdullah Afzal, who guided the programme with humour, energy, and heartfelt reflections on the impact of the charity’s work.
Key Speeches & Lifetime Achievement Awards
Chairman Suhel Ahmed Khan delivered an inspiring address reflecting on the hospital’s journey and the important role played by life members and supporters in sustaining its services and future growth.
During the ceremony, Chairman Suhel Ahmed Khan presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Abdul Shafik, Senior Fundraising Director, in recognition of his longstanding dedication and service to the organisation.
CEO M Shab Uddin followed with a powerful presentation outlining the hospital’s progress, achievements, and future vision. He then presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Alhaj Shams Uddin Khan, Founder Chairman, honouring his historic contribution to the establishment of the hospital and his decades of service to the British-Bangladeshi community.
Distinguished Keynote Speakers
The event featured keynote speeches from several distinguished guests, including:
• Professor Shafi Ahmed — world-renowned surgeon, innovator, and Nobel Peace Prize nominee
• Neil Sampson — Executive Director, International Division, Ackroyd Legal
• Mahee Ferdous Jalil — Founder of Channel S and longstanding media and charity partner of BBCGH
• Toffozul Miah — former President of BBCA and proprietor of Car Planet
Their speeches highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare and the collective responsibility of supporting underserved communities.
Fundraising Segment
One of the evening’s major highlights was the fundraising segment led by Sadia Sajid, a respected charity strategist and presenter. Guests viewed a powerful documentary showcasing the hospital’s work, followed by a live fundraising appeal and charity auction to support ongoing healthcare projects.
Honouring Life Members & Sponsors
The ceremony recognised multiple batches of new and existing Life Members, each receiving certificates on stage in appreciation of their continued support and commitment.
