Hussain Bellagrache, known by his stage name Rifinox, was born on March 3, 1993, in the town of Azghenghan in the Rif. From a young age, he started writing poetry. In 2011 he began rapping. Most of his songs were connected to the Riffian identity. Over time, he became an important voice for the Amazigh movement among young people in the Rif and in the diaspora. Through his music, he fought for the Amazigh identity and its right to exist.

Events followed quickly. At the end of 2014, he released several strong songs, including “Azzogh” (I Want) and “Azul” (Hello/Good day). In the following year, 2015, he continued his music career and released more popular songs such as “Asgwas Amaynu” (Amazigh New Year) and “Tamzi” (Youth Years). ...👇

The Rif resistance achieved notable victories against Spanish colonialism in its struggle for freedom and independence, from the Battle of Abaran on June 1, 1921, to the devastating Anwal disaster on July 22, 1921. The latter represented a severe setback for the government of Madrid and the European imperialist powers, as it resulted in the loss of between 25,000 and 28,000 Spanish soldiers.

Confronted with this defeat, Spain recognized that its existing military strategy was inadequate and sought a new, more lethal, and more destructive approach. This shift resulted in the launch of a chemical weapons campaign against the Riffians.
