Our office is looking for two enthusiastic and active young who would like to join our team in Brussels for 8 or 5 months in the framework of the European Solidarity Corps.
📅 When: 1 September 2023 to 30 April 2024, and 1 December 2023 to 30 April 2024
📍 Where: ERGO Network office in Brussels, Belgium
🧑 Who: Young Roma professionals between 18 and 30
💸 Remuneration: 1200 euro per month

We are very happy to announce that TÓTH és TÓTH Debrői Borok (Family Winery) from Hungary is a holder of our badge! 👏👏👏🏅🏅🥂 🥂

The Winery is located in the village of Aldebrő, in the North-East part of Hungary in the Eger Wine Region known internationally and famous for its “bull's blood” wine. They have nearly 40 acres of vineyards that have been involved in wine-making and wine grape grafting for over 30 years.

The winery's inclusive personnel policy was based on the objective labor market situation and the organizational culture experienced by the founder Tóth.
They have 15 permanent staff and half of it are of Roma origin, 2 out of 4 top workers are Roma.
To address the lack of local transportation, the company created a policy which gives Roma and non-Roma employees access to the company car not just for commuting to work but also for their own shopping on weekends.
Tóth Winery has become a truly workplace through decades of organic development, which has double advantage: it is easier to ensure further recruitment and create trust-based relationship in which everyone feels important and wanted.

Letond is one of the few construction companies in Budapest today that is not only comfortable in the residential but also in the industrial segment, from the renovation of the studio apartment to the complete construction of the new industrial buildings.

The company its very proud of having Roma employees. “The Roma are those who are also building serious multi-billion-dollar projects in the capital, new buildings stand thanks to them. We are a good team together” The Roma are not just manual workers but also very professional and bring creative ideas to the projects.

Ethnic Talents Casting Agency from Hungary joined the campaign!

The Casting Agency Ethnic Talents as a small private company was established with the technical and financial assistance of the Badur Foundation.
The Agency its open to diversity and recognizes the value added by inclusiveness and going against stereotypes. In addition to acting opportunities the Agency's aim is to provide additional income for lots of Roma people by linking them with other than acting type of career opportunities in the world of film, such as carpenters, technicians, etc.

Their long-term aims is to change the rhetoric of discrimination and create a more balanced and positive image of Roma by featuring them in movies and advertisements in non-stereotypical roles. The Ethnic Talents Casting Agency already advertises in its name the diversity of the people it represents, both in terms of facial color and cultural backgrounds and one of its CEOs is Roma 👏👏👏🏅🏅

Our campaign is growing! Another employer and a strong advocate for human rights is joining us - Človek v ohrození Slovenská Republika (People in Need from Slovakia). We are honored to have them as part of our campaign, since they work for over 20 years with people who suffer from poverty, discrimination, war, conflicts, natural disasters, and authoritarian regimes. They advocate in Slovakia for an open, tolerant, and inclusive society through educational activities and work in the most excluded communities. Their work is done in a transparent manner and they have a very diverse team and continue to change the lives of many.

Equality of employment opportunities for young Roma is fair and just, but also a smart economic choice: It is an effective way to improve growth prospects and respond to the demographic challenge of rapidly ageing populations in EU Member States. At the same time, a diverse work force proves to increase emotional intelligence, creativity and productivity of a team, creates trust of minority customers and attracts good employees.

Investing in young Roma and other ethnic minorities breaks the cycle of poverty, discrimination and exclusion. It can yield high returns and can deliver the kind of lasting change that many policies and programmes have so far failed to achieve.

With this campaign we will tell a positive story of Roma youth employment, highlighting the benefits of inclusive work places and the empowering stories of young Roma people’s path to employment.
