Discovering the world of the Finno-Ugric peoples - an inspiring and memorable evening at the opening of the exhibition “Animals in the Finno-Ugric World” by the Estonian artist Piret Räni.

We were delighted to welcome here at the Embassy Ambassadors, diplomats, cultural representatives, and many distinguished guests for a warm gathering celebrating Finno-Ugric heritage, art, and traditions. Through her beautiful graphic works Piret Räni highlighted the deep connection between nature, mythology, and the Finno-Ugric peoples, while also drawing attention to the importance of preserving Finno-Ugric languages and cultures, many of which are endangered today.

Special thanks to Ms Barbi Pilvre, (PhD), Managing Director of Fenno Ugria (NGO), for her insightful presentation based on the recent study on the state of the Finno-Ugric peoples, to Piret Räni for sharing the stories behind her work, and to all guests whose presence and engaging conversations made the evening very special.
