Belgium is Design is a declaration of passion for design, highlighting the unique characteristics of Belgium’s creative production, a programme to promote Belgian design on the international scene. The BELGIUM IS DESIGN project promotes Belgian design around the world and is an initiative of 3 institutions: Flanders DC, MAD – Home of Creators and Wallonie-Bruxelles Design Mode.

- MEET THE DESIGNERS⁠
is a creative collaboration between visual artist Edouard Devriendt and furniture maker Leon Duyck. In their practice, the duo explores the design and production of objects both in their function and in their poetic possibilities.⁠
⁠
While their work often starts from a simple idea on paper, material research and physical prototyping in the atelier helps them understand and develop an object. They engage in a continuous process of prototyping that fosters a dialogue between their sensibilities, to hightlight each object’s tactility. All of Vormen’s objects are made in Belgium and produced through the atelier.⁠

is the design label of Belgian interior architect Leo Aerts, whose work is defined by timeless forms, functional clarity, and exceptional materials.⁠
⁠
Following the success of his Meta coffee table for B&B Italia in 1987, Leo Aerts expanded his focus on furniture and objects that combine sculptural simplicity with durability. Since 1995, Alinea has been designing collectible pieces; from the iconic Angelo M marble table collection to the Visibile glass display cabinet. The common thread? Sustainable, characterful materials. His designs have won numerous national and international awards, including the coveted German Red Dot Design Award, German Design Award, Good Design Award in Chicago and AZ Award in Toronto.⁠

Attentive to their surroundings and everyday life scenes, (founded by the duo Pauline Capdo and Luis Bellenger), captures images that resonate with our collective memory and reinterprets them through projects with strong narratives.⁠

To bring their ideas to life, Pauline and Luis primarily focus on simple, understated, and affordable materials, often borrowed from other fields and repurposed in unexpected ways. Their creations, both simple and poetic, sit at the crossroads of craftsmanship and industry, sometimes produced in collaboration with brands, sometimes self-produced, or even as custom-made projects. Designed with great efficiency, their objects make the most of the specific characteristics of the materials or processes used, optimizing production and simplifying assembly.⁠
