👏 Standing ovation today at the European Parliament for pianist Jiaxin Min.

From the elegance of Bach to the passion of Brahms, she captivated the audience with a performance full of energy, sensitivity and virtuosity.

A beautiful reminder that music has always been one of Europe’s common languages. Bach’s works continue to bring people together nearly three centuries after they were written.

Thank you to Jiaxin Min and to everyone who joined us for another wonderful lunchtime concert of the European Parliament Piano Festival.

🎹 The European Parliament Piano Festival

More than two centuries ago, Ludwig van Beethoven dreamed of a Europe united by shared values, human dignity and freedom. His music transcended borders and languages, speaking directly to what Europeans have in common.

French pianist Mirabelle Kajenjeri brought that vision to life with remarkable talent, generosity and energy. Her interpretation of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 28 and the legendary Appassionata captivated the audience, combining technical brilliance with a natural stage presence and infectious enthusiasm.

As the first notes resonated through the heart of Europe, the Piano Festival began its journey: a month-long celebration of culture, dialogue and the universal language of music.

🎼 Music connects people. Europe does too.

We are opening with an exceptional French pianist, Mirabelle Kajenjeri, described by La Libre Belgique as: “A pianist with a unique touch, effortlessly mastering the most challenging acrobatics with a discreet smile, disarmingly natural and generous.”

Tomorrow’s programme features two masterpieces by Beethoven: the Piano Sonata No. 28 in A major, Op. 101 and the iconic Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor, Op. 57 (“Appassionata”).

We look forward to welcoming you for a month of outstanding music at the heart of Europe. More in the first comment.

Al is changing how we create.
But creators must stay in control.
And they must be compensated fairly.
Generative Al learns from existing content to create things like text, images and music. But innovation shouldn't come at the expense of the artists, writers and journalists whose work trains these systems.
Parliament wants rules that ensure:
- fair compensated when protected work trains Al
- Al on the EU market follows EU copyright rules
- creators can say yes or no to their work being used
- transparency about what copyrighted content trains Al
- fair licensing deals for creators across sectors
Innovation matters. But so do the people behind the work.
Parliament is standing up for them.
