Today we're celebrating the Day of Tove Jansson and Finnish 🇫🇮 Art! 🎉 Jansson did not only create beloved Moomins, but was an influential artist and writer. Her books has been translated into more than 50 languages. Jansson was born exactly today in 1914.

Today marks the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples!

Did you know, that:

🔹The Sámi are the only indigenous people within the EU 🇪🇺
🔹There are about 10 000 Sámi in Finland 🇫🇮 and over 60 % live outside Sámi Homeland
🔹The status of the Sámi was written into the Finnish constitution in 1995
🔹 In Finland, there are speakers of three Sámi languages: North Sámi, Inari Sámi and Skolt Sámi
🔹The Sámi Parliament is called Sámediggi and it’s the self-government body of the Sámi
🔹The traditional livelihoods are fishing, gathering, handicrafts, hunting and reindeer herding

All roads lead (back) to Brussels! 🙌🏽

Exactly ten years after they were interns together at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the EU, all four have now found their way back to the Perm Rep.

Meet our Defence Counsellor Meiju Keksi, Desk Officer for Russia and neighbouring countries Johannes Puukki, Press Officer Eeva Scheele and Minister Counsellor for the Åland Islands Anton Nilsson.

This is a great testimonial that the Perm Rep is truly a wonderful place to work.
