The European Nursing Students’ Association was originally founded in 2006. ENSA's objectives are:

We are an international organization representing nursing students in Europe, aiming to give the future backbone of the healthcare systems around Europe a strong voice. It is an independent, non-governmental, volunteer-based organization of national nursing student associations and students’ unions. ure backbone of the healthcare systems around Europe a strong voice. The vision of ENSA is to empower nursing students in Europe, so they can thrive in a safe and inclusive environment, while striving for excellence in patient care. We aim to enhance:

-Mental and physical well-being of nursing students,
- Promote professional and intercultural skills,
- Develop interprofessional relationships,
- Encourage nursing research and
- Support the use of digital solutions in both, patient care and nursing education. To promote the highest possible training standards for nursing students across
Europe.
2. Advocate for the interests of nursing students and early career nurses.
3. To encourage high professional ideals among nursing students and early career
nurses.
4. Promote and encourage international relations between nursing students and
early career nurses.
5. Provide advice, when requested, for the creation and development of national
nursing student associations
6. Promote solidarity work at both the national and international levels. Additionally, we advocate for strengthen the role of nurses as mentors for students and raise their voices in European healthcare policy to contribute to a better future. This week, the European Parliament highlights the rights of people with a disability.

A reminder of how important equality, accessibility and inclusion is across Europe.

For future nurses, understanding these rights is essential.
Not only throughout their careers, but especially during their education, where inclusive learning shapes the foundation for inclusive care.
As the voice of Europe’s nursing students, ENSA continues to advocate for equal opportunities, accessible education and a healthcare future where everyone is supported and empowered.

ENSA participated in the Regional Committee of the WHO European Region

ENSA had the honor of representing the voice of health students within this committee. We delivered statements on:
✨ innovation in public health,
✨ the “Aging is Living” approach,
✨ mental health at both the individual and collective levels.

We also worked hand in hand with other engaged organizations, including EFNNMA, EMSA – European Medical Students’ Association, and the ICN.

Together, we reaffirm the essential role of youth in shaping the health policies of tomorrow. 💬🌍

🇷🇴 ENSA at the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Forum in Bucharest!

💡During the Future Leaders Fellowship Roundtable, ENSA’s vice-president Alex Streinu explored how young people can shape stronger, healthier and more connected communities across Europe.

✨ The event highlighted how youth engagement, peer education, and volunteerism can become powerful tools for civic empowerment and sustainable cooperation across Europe.

ENSA remains committed to promoting the voice of nursing students in shaping a more resilient, compassionate, and united Euro-Atlantic community!

✨ We had the honor of representing the European Nursing Students’ Association (ENSA) at the Romanian Youth Gala 2025, a national event celebrating the dedication, vision, and impact of young people and organizations shaping the future of Romania.

🏛️ The Gala was officially opened by Mr. Florin Manole, Minister of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, and brought together distinguished guests such as Mr. Victor Negrescu, Vice-President of the European Parliament, Ms. Luciana Buliga, Vice-President of the National Authority for Policies and Coordination in the Field of Drugs and Addictions (ANPCDDA), the Mayor of Vaslui, and the President of the Vaslui County Council, alongside representatives of national youth organizations and local authorities.

🌍 It was an inspiring opportunity to highlight the contribution of young healthcare professionals to health education, prevention, and community wellbeing, and to emphasize ENSA’s ongoing commitment to empowering nursing students across Europe.

🤝 Congratulations to all the finalists and winners — together we prove that youth engagement is the driving force of change!
