🇳🇱 Coderougerood 𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝘁 𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘂𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝗹𝘄𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝘃𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗶: 𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿. De boodschap focust op alle vormen van schade waar deze sector voor verantwoordelijk is, zowel op het gebied van milieu en klimaat als op het gebied van mensenrechten, oorlogen, neokolonialisme en autoritarisme. 𝗪𝗶𝗷 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲.

Net als bij de vijf voorgaande acties zullen er in het hele land infosessies en trainingen plaatsvinden. Deze trainingen zijn essentieel om de modaliteiten van de actie en het vereiste geweldloze karakter ervan te begrijpen en te onderschrijven. Le narratif met l’accent sur les responsabilités multiples de cette industrie. tant sur l’environnement et le climat que les droits humains, les guerres, le néocolonialisme, l’autoritarisme. 𝗡𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗰 𝗯𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗲́𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Infosessions et formations auront lieu dans tout le pays, comme pour les 5 actions précédentes. Ces formations sont essentielles pour comprendre et adhérer aux modalités de l’action et à la non-violence qui doit prévaloir. ⚠️ Today, and have protested against outside of the Datacloud conference. We are calling for a on new permits for AI-oriented in and across Europe.

⛔️ AI is not “in the cloud”. It runs on physical infrastructure: data centres that consume significant amounts of , and materials. Data centres are expected to account for over 10% of Belgium’s electricity consumption, while the EU aims to triple data centre capacity in the next five years. This growth in energy demand will put a strain on the grid, and will jeopardise the supply of , electricity to the population.

✊ We are asking decision-makers to press pause on AI data centres, bring , and ensure that people in Europe have a real say in the infrastructure that will shape our energy use for decades. We need control on digital infrastructure and real environmental and social safeguards!

Our demands:

1️⃣ A moratorium to immediately pause on new construction and expansion permits for hyperscale and AI data centres in Belgium to prevent irreversible lock-in while the rules are being updated.

2️⃣ Mandatory, detailed and transparent impact assessments for all projects (including expansions), covering electricity demand (including AI workloads), cooling and water use, waste heat, raw materials, lifecycle carbon footprint, local impacts, and grid upgrade requirements.

3️⃣ Democratic participation with real power, including official citizens’ assemblies to decide which AI infrastructure is socially justified and which types of uses should be restricted.

4️⃣ A “polluter pays” approach, ensuring that companies cover the true costs of energy, water and environmental impacts, rather than shifting them onto residents.

5️⃣ No public subsidies or hidden support for projects whose main purpose is to scale private AI services; and a fair contribution from Big Tech to public infrastructure.

🇫🇷 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗶𝗲𝗻-𝗲̂𝘁𝗿𝗲 ?
La croissance (verte ou pas) c’est - en simplifiant à peine - la somme de l’argent dépensé pour des biens ou des services (PIB). Or « le PIB mesure tout… sauf ce qui fait que la vie vaut d’être vécue » a dit Robert Kennedy en 1968. La croissance n’entraîne donc pas automatiquement bonheur et bien-être. Massacrer les forêts tropicales est « bon pour le PIB » car ce dernier ne comptabilise pas ce que l’humanité perd en richesses non monétaires au cours de cette destruction [1]. Vendre des ci******es aussi, non seulement par les revenus directs mais aussi via les coûts médicaux que cela peut engendrer. Le PIB ne prend pas en compte la souffrance et les vies raccourcies [2].

𝗨𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲́𝗲 : Croire que la croissance génère la prospérité de la population [1]. Hormis une certaine corrélation dans les pays pauvre, les bénéfices financiers des activités « monétarisées » vont essentiellement dans la poche des déjà riches [3] et cela épuise la planète [4]. « Celui qui pense qu’une croissance exponentielle infinie est possible dans un monde fini est soit un fou, soit un économiste. » (Kenneth Boulding).

𝗨𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 : Diminuer la consommation de biens, notamment en privilégiant les services de réparation et de location, les systèmes d’échange, de prêt, de partage, de seconde main, de reconditionnement ... On vous en donne un parmi des centaines [5].

🇳🇱 Groei of welziijn ?
Groei (groen of niet) is – enigszins vereenvoudigd – de som van het geld dat wordt uitgegeven aan goederen of diensten (bbp). Maar “het bbp meet alles... behalve wat het leven de moeite waard maakt”, zei Robert Kennedy in 1968. Groei leidt dus niet automatisch tot geluk en welzijn. Het kappen van tropische bossen is “goed voor het BBP”, omdat het BBP geen rekening houdt met wat de mensheid aan niet-monetaire rijkdom verliest tijdens deze vernietiging [1]. Het verkopen van sigaretten ook, niet alleen vanwege de directe inkomsten, maar ook vanwege de medische kosten die dit met zich mee kan brengen. Het BBP houdt geen rekening met het lijden en de verkorte levens

𝗘𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘂𝗶𝗹 : geloven dat groei welvaart voor de bevolking genereert [1]. Afgezien van een zekere correlatie in arme landen, gaan de financiële voordelen van “gemonetariseerde” activiteiten voornamelijk naar degenen die al rijk zijn [3] en dit put de planeet uit [4]. “Wie denkt dat oneindige exponentiële groei mogelijk is in een eindige wereld, is ofwel gek, ofwel econoom.” (Kenneth Boulding).

𝗘𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗷𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: Het verbruik van goederen verminderen, met name door de voorkeur te geven aan reparatie- en verhuurdiensten, ruil-, uitleen-, deel-, tweedehands- en reconditioneringssystemen ... We geven u er één van de honderden [5].
