🗣️ GOOD NEWS ✨

The SOC Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has just unanimously rejected the draft protocol that sought to regulate involuntary placement and involuntary treatment in psychiatry. For years, UN experts, organizations and people directly concerned had been warning that this text violated human rights and the CRPD.
This is a major turning point: Europe is acknowledging that coercion in mental health must be reduced, not legitimized. The final vote will take place in January 2026.

🌍 World Mental Health Day – October 10

Mental health is not an individual matter.
It is a common good, woven into our relationships, our living conditions, our rights, and our dignity.

Too often, “mental health” is reduced to diagnoses, treatments, or the sole responsibility of the person.
But how can we speak of psychological well-being without speaking of housing, education, social justice, emotional security, cultural respect, and freedom?

To preserve mental health is to protect the human contexts that make it possible.
It means rethinking our institutions, our schools, our workplaces, and our communities so that they no longer exhaust, humiliate, or exclude.

On this World Day, let us remember:
👉 Mental health is not a personal luxury, but a collective responsibility.
👉 Dignity and consent are not options — they are foundations.

🕊️ A truly healthy society is one that heals its relationships before medicalizing its wounds.

📢 The exhibition on psychiatric abuse in Bruxelles has come to an end… but the fight goes on.

Over several days, we welcomed a wide audience who came to learn, share, and in many cases, testify. Numerous testimonies were given to us, confirming that psychiatric abuse is not a thing of the past — it is still happening today.

Among these were powerful accounts not only from victims, but also from medical professionals, both former and current staff from psychiatric institutions.

🎤 Here is one of those testimonies. It sends chills down the spine.

We cannot remain silent.
📣 Join us in taking action: document distribution, conferences, training sessions… anything is possible. Together, let’s say STOP to abuse in psychiatry.
