Information Collection for Bangladeshi diaspora/Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) specialists and professionals.

Dear Community Members,

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Brussels is pleased to inform you that the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, is preparing a comprehensive database of Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) professionals (including scientists, engineers, academics, and industrial experts) under its Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP).

Furthermore, a Diaspora Policy is also being developed by the Government of Bangladesh to better engage skilled Bangladeshi professionals abroad in advancing Bangladesh’s national development, industrial transformation and knowledge-driven growth.

In this regard, interested community members living in Belgium or Luxembourg are kindly requested to share their information by scanning the QR Code (to access the Google Drive Doc file) or in the following format to [email protected] or by 14 June 2026.

The use of the received information will be limited to the purpose mentioned above. Your kind cooperation in this regard would be highly appreciated.

The relationship between Bangladesh and Belgium has been deepening steadily and surely. The recent visit of the Hon'ble Foreign Minister of Bangladesh to Belgium and his meeting with the Hon'ble Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Belgium added new momentum to this very important relationship. Bangladesh Amb Mr. Masudul Alam met Amb Mr. William Asselborn, Director of Asia and Oceania of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the latter's office today where they discussed the way forward to capitalize on the momentum created by the meeting at the political level for mutual benefit of the two countries.

The EU hosts the largest research platform of the world. Bangladesh Amb Mr. Alam held a fruitful discussions with DG (Research & Innovation) of the EU Mr. Marc Lemaître at the latter’s office today to deepen research partnership of Bangladesh with the EU.

H.E. the Ambassador Mr. Khandker Masudul Alam held a constructive meeting with the Mr. Peteris Ustubs, Director, Middle East, Asia and Pacific for the International Cooperation and Development on 19 May 2026 at the INTPA, Brussel.

The discussion focused on key aspects of Bangladesh-European Union partnership such as ongoing development cooperation and future prospects of it.

Both sides exchanged views on enhancing future engagements and reinforcing the longstanding ties between Bangladesh and the European Union. They discussed, among others, upcoming Multi Annual Indicative Program (MIP), reforms in Bangladesh, process to expedite the ongoing joint projects, trade and market access, LDC Graduation, and renewable energy.
