USNATO Ambassador Whitaker, in coordination with the Department of Commerce, has been leading the Transatlantic Defense Industry Access Forum, a roadshow of close to 60 U.S. defense companies to Munich, The Hague, Brussels, and Luxembourg.

[SECURITY ALERT] Demonstration Alert: Brussels, Belgium (June 11, 2026)

Political demonstrations are expected today in Brussels, with likely protests at the European Parliament, Vlaams Belang party headquarters, Flemish Parliament, and the intersection of Rue de la Loi and Avenue des Arts. A high concentration of protesters are expected at Brussels Central Station from 1400 and at the Madou/Place Surlet de Chokier area from 1800. Given previous incidents related to similar political events, authorities may restrict access to these areas due to a potential for confrontations between protesters and police. U.S. citizens should avoid the areas near these expected protests and are advised to leave the area if they come across a protest.

Ambassador Bill White: “Very excited to announce that country musician Alexis Wilkins will join us to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary of independence at Parc du Cinquantenaire in Brussels. Alexis will have the honor of singing The Star-Spangled Banner as part of our official program and performing a set of some of her best songs. Looking forward to Alexis performing at one of the largest celebrations of American independence outside the United States!

Alexis is a dear friend of Bryan and me. She is a dynamo and we can’t wait to have her perform for our troops. President Trump and I salute performance artists who love our country.”
