From today, Brazilian beef and other animal products are suspended from the EU market because Brazil has not provided the guarantees required under EU antimicrobial rules. For the past two years, Ciaran Mullooly has pushed this issue with determination, demanding the same standards for imports as for European producers. This is the Europe we stand for: open to the world and open to trade, but firm on fairness. Free trade must always mean fair trade.

According to Citizen Lab and the SHARE Foundation, ’s pressure on dissent is intensifying. At least 14 students, activists and opposition figures have been targeted with advanced spyware since the start of 2026. One confirmed Pegasus infection used a zero-click exploit. From Greece and Italy to Catalonia, we have already denounced spyware used against journalists, activists and political opponents. Serbia, an EU candidate, must guarantee the freedom to organise, campaign and oppose those in power without fear.

🇪🇺 The EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation is setting common requirements for electric charging across Europe. Along the TEN-T road network, Member States must progressively ensure publicly accessible charging pools at regular intervals, with key targets of no more than 60 km between them for cars and vans.

The regulation also makes charging easier: users must be able to recharge ad hoc, without a subscription, and prices must be clear and transparent.

This is how the green transition should work: with infrastructure, innovation and practical solutions that make cleaner choices genuinely accessible.

A just and effective transition is built through concrete action, not slogans.

Italy’s government invoked “national security” to suspend arrangements with Spain after the crisis, turning a European challenge into a confrontation with Madrid.
Meanwhile, a Belarusian suspect in the attempted explosive drone attack at /Halle entered Schengen on an Italian tourist visa issued by the Visa Office of Italy’s Embassy in Minsk.
European security needs consistency: serious controls where the real risks are, cooperation between Member States and visa procedures capable of identifying potential threats. That is the explanation Giorgia ’s government now owes.

A recent Turkish NAVTEX has announced research activities south and southwest of , a Greek island in the eastern Mediterranean, once again raising tensions over maritime rights in the area.
Our Greek member party, Democrats – Progressive Centre, is right to challenge the government’s reactive approach. When the government takes the initiative and limits itself to responding, the balance of the debate is shaped elsewhere.
We support their call for constant monitoring, international reporting and the firm defence of Greece’s sovereign rights under international law. European security in the requires confidence, vigilance and respect for international law.
