Serbian prosecutors have opened an investigation claiming that students planned to simulate the use of a “sonic cannon” during the huge Belgrade protest of 15 March 2025. This is outrageous: instead of identifying who ordered and used that banned acoustic weapon, the authorities are now targeting its victims.
The videos and testimonies show that something very real happened: peaceful students and citizens were suddenly thrown into panic during a silent tribute, with many reporting nausea, dizziness and headaches. That weapon did not fall from the sky. Someone used it, and someone covered it up.
Vučić and those responsible bear a grave political and moral responsibility. A system that still has no real accountability for the Novi Sad canopy collapse, and now investigates the victims of the sonic cannon, shows how rotten Serbia’s institutions remain. Serbia deserves truth and justice, not intimidation.
