Exploring Asia without flying: Loïc’s story

You might remember Loïc, one of Greentripper’s developers. Well, he’s now on a four-month break to travel and discover Asia. After flying from Brussels to Da Nang, Vietnam to start his trip, his journey back will now be completely flight-free!

Over the next months, Loïc will explore wonderful countries such as Vietnam, China, Kazakhstan and Turkey. His slow-travel approach will allow him to:

🚉 Connect more deeply with the places, culture and people
🚴Avoid the touristic crowded areas
🚌Spend less money while experiencing more
⛵Enjoy the journey and actually feel rested

And last but not least, his environmental impact will be significantly lower: for the same distance, plane emits 3x more CO2e than a combination of land and water transport (source: Act4Travel Scanner).

Travel inspiration without flying, part. 2 🚉

Here we are again with some travel destinations reachable easily by train, this time focusing on the South of Europe. Check this out for your next sustainable holidays!

Important remark: these train lines exist and rely on conscious travellers like us. Taking the train, it’s not only diminishing its own travel impact: it is also contributing to a travel economy that is more sustainable 🌻

And when you start digging, a lot of amazing spots are close to a train station!

The last two months, Greentripper welcomed a new intern. Jessica is studying Product Management, and she played a key role in shaping and promoting our new tool, the Act4Travel Scanner. She also improved our communication (with incredible social media posts for instance), benchmarked Greentripper or brought a lot of wonderful ideas for our new website (coming soon).

Beyond her (very good) professional skills, Jessica was above all an awesome person to be with. Always motivated, helpful, full of initiatives, we could count on her for everything, and that was truly precious!

Now it’s time for her to leave us for new adventures, good luck Jessica, and thanks again, you will be missed ✨
