Yesterday the annual FireForum Awards were presented! FireForum awards achievements in Fire Prevention, Education and Solutions.
After being nominated in the category "Science, Research and Theses", a jury awarded our project "Submerged Vehicle Entrapment Rescue Training Structure" Winner in it's category!!!

As a delightfull extra, the project was rewarded 2nd place overall by public vote!

The idea for this project started growing in our founder's head a few years ago. Through his employer (Brandweerzone Vlaams Brabant West) he was able to team up with PTS Boom (A Belgian Technical School). A fruitfull cooperation grew and resulted in a national award, strengthening our mutual idea of education through innovation.

Aside our business in Underwater Works, Rescue Trainings for private companies and Underwater Safety programmes, our efforts in the public sector now have been nationally recognised.

We proudly would like to thank:
- Steven Potums and Wim Geukens for logistic and financial planning.
- Jens Vanhoutte and Mark Verbeke for hauling and technical advise
- Wim Broos for allowing this project to be built through and by PTS BOOM
- Luc De Roeck for his Coordination and support at PTS BOOM
- All teachers and students involved: PTS BOOM technical drawing / Car Mechanics / Metalurgy and welding divisions

It has been a wonderfull journey, and there simply would not have been any result without these amazing people!

Today we found some long-lost documents in a submerged safe laying on the bottom of a Belgian Canal. We would love to hand these to Herr Fritz Dahlbudding born on september 11th 1941(or his relatives). Could you guys make this go around the world, hoping to find the owner or his relatives... thank you all for your coöperation!

We would like to invite all of you water and waterrescue loving people out there to support one of our brainchilds. Last year our founder, through his main job as a firefighter-diver instructor for hulpverleningszone Vlaams Brabant West, teamed up with a technical school (PTS Boom) to create a system for underwater vehicle entrapment rescue training. The result is this unique object, allowing a car to be positioned safely in all positions (standing on the wheels, upside down, on the side,...) on the bottom of a lake, canal or river without damaging it. This allows for rescue-diving personell to train their skills in a safe and controllable environment. The car was stripped of all fluid-holding items for environmental protection, but is fully operational in the cabin. If it would ever become unusable, the car can be easily swapped for a new one. Credits go to Steven Potums (financial and logistics planning), Jens Vanhoutte (logistics), PTS Boom (drawings and construction). Supporting through public vote will help us continuing our efforts in the future and would be greatly appreciated. Vote for: "oefenkooi brandweerduikers"

Today we field-tested our newest creation: an UnderwaterQuizz! 25 questions at level 2 and 3* / AOW and DM... But by no means limited and still to be expanded to all levels. This quizz requires the subject to answer correctly, in order to get to the next question.
Quizz can be taken in apnea or equipped with a breathing device.

After a long period of designing, rethinking, drawing, creating and assembling we are ready to test the prototype of our modular mini-Sarcofaag.
The goals:
- mobility
- swimmingpool proof
- modularity

Many of these modules combined can create a family car and allow for training vehicle entrapment rescue in any kind of water. Indoor, outdoor, clean or dirty water.
Made out of HDPE thee are food-grade, and very easy to wash off.
Doors can be taken away by simply sliding them up.
When combining several modules, a roof can be added.

Testing one of our newest Mini-faag rescue trainers. We have them available for car-entrapment rescue in all sizes:
- baby (maxi-cosi)
- toddler (toddler seat)
- youth (back-seat / front-seat)
- adult (front-seat)

Allowing for training submerged vehicle entrapment rescue in all possible positions!

Tijdens een oefening voor onze brandweerduikers vonden we deze bril! We zijn er zeker van dat de eigenaar hem graag terugheeft :-) Blauwe sportbril van Nike, lichte correctie.
VINDPLAATS: hofstade, domein Sport Vlaanderen - zeilplas - 10 meter van het rechte ponton. Ongeveer 7 meter diep
