Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) / U.S. 5th Fleet Public Affairs page! This page is intended to provide updated information and discussion on NAVCENT. Naval Forces Central Command is responsible for approximately 2.5 million square miles of area including the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, North Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea. Naval Forces Central Command’s mission is to co

nduct maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts, and strengthen partner nations' maritime capabilities in order to promote security and stability in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. While this is an open forum, it's also a family friendly one, so please keep your comments and wall posts clean. Vice Adm. Curt Renshaw, NAVCENT/5th FLEET commander, visited USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77), May 15, as the aircraft carrier patrolled regional waters in support of the U.S. blockade operations against Iran. While on board, he interacted with Sailors and addressed them on the 1MC while highlighting the importance of the ongoing mission.

For the first time in decades, three aircraft carriers are operating in the Middle East at the same time. Accompanied by their carrier air wings, the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) and USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) include over 200 aircraft and 15,000 Sailors and Marines.
