Pet parents and sponsors: you may have heard rumors about changes to Bahrain requirements for import and export. The only updates are as follows. If you have questions, email or call the clinic ([email protected]):
1. All pets (UNLESS YOU’VE ALREADY CONTACTED US AND STARTED THE PROCEES) will need a FAVN blood test within 1 year of IMPORT ONLY to Bahrain. I’ve updated our import checklist with this requirement.
2. When sponsors are going to the Animal Health Directorate to pick up import permits, they will need to have the memo from our office and the pet’s vaccination records. Our clinic will print these for you and staple them to the memo. Please don’t forget them when picking up import permits!
3. Rumors are rumors. When getting export permits, you do NOT have to bring your pet. Recently the Animal Health Directorate has been trying to insist. However, our office and the Base have talked with the Ministry to allow an exemption for Navy affiliated pets provided you come through our vet office for your export memo.

If you need Import/Export Memo’s, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. We will have 2 available days for pick up: Tuesday December 21st & 28th from 0900-1100.

If you need prescription medication, please email us to let us know to have it ready for you to pick up by Thursday, December 16th. 💊

If you are in need of a Health Certificate during those dates, you can visit one of the off base Vet Clinics. If you need a list, you can email us as well.
