Lord, I want to be like Esther. Not that I want to be a queen, but that I want to be your servant for such a time as this. Help me to not dwell on what went wrong in my past, but to look forward to what You want me to do right in my present and my future. Choose me. Send me. Use me.

In Jesus’ Name

Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me, Your daughter, enough to show me glimpses of Your glory in everyday life. Help me not to miss them. Help me not to be so busy in the blur of life, to miss You, the Source of Life.

In Jesus’ Name,
Amen

Father, Please forgive me when I judge others instead of loving them. Help me see every person through Your eyes of love and mercy. Please guard my tongue and my heart so that I will build up and not destroy others. I want to please You by the way I love the unlovable. Help me grow up and become a fully devoted follower of Christ

Father, Please forgive me for refusing to love the hard-to-love people in my life. Right now, I choose to let Your love flow through me as I deal with difficult people. Let me see them through Your eyes. Show me how I can meet a need in their lives, and please give me the wisdom and strength to meet that need.

Do you ever struggle to see in the shadows of your days, ways, and thoughts? I sure do. So I turn to the Bible to gain divine insight on how to remove the lens cap of darkness. And as I read I find a few simple reminders that help position my heart, mind, and soul in the goodness of God’s light.

#1. PRAY … as the psalmist did for the Lord to open our eyes and lead us in His truth and understanding.

“Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” (Psalm 119:18)

“Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds. (Psalm 119:27)

#2. YIELD … When we surrender our ways to God’s ways, we step out from the shadows and into the light.

“Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end. Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.” (Psalm 119:33-37)

“Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” (Psalm 86:11)

#3. STAND FIRM … Be determined. Make a decision to stand in the light and strength of God. Remember that you are not alone. Remember that you are never limited to your own resources, but instead that you have access to the storehouses of heaven. Darkness must yield to light. Jesus is the Light of the World (John 8:12) and He has called us to be that light too (Matthew 5:14).

“I hold fast to your statutes, Lord; do not let me be put to shame.” (Psalm 119:31)

“I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” (Psalm 16:8)

“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.” (Psalm 62:1-2)

Pray. Yield. Stand Firm.

As we do these three things, the dim lens caps of our human limitations are removed and we gain a fresh and clear view of our days, ways and thoughts through the power of the Spirit of God that is alive and active within us.

Let’s Pray
Dear Lord,

Thank You for Your Word that leads me in all truth and grace. Please flood my heart with Your light so that I can see beyond the dark. Help me to understand and embrace the confident hope that You have called me to live with in Christ.

Father, I am so sorry for the critical words I have spoken and entertained. Forgive me for allowing conflict to remain unresolved. I want to be a woman who wages peace and pursues integrity. May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart please You, Lord.

23/11/2015

Father, I want to thank You for being my Shepherd. Please teach me how to rest in Your care and trust You no matter how high the mountains or how deep the valleys in my life may be.

In Jesus’ Name,

18/11/2015

God, I’ll admit, sometimes I get mad at You. Sometimes I am disappointed. Please forgive me. I know You always have my best interests in mind. Even in tragedy I trust You. As David said in Psalm 25:10, “All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful,” whether I understand them or not.

Trusting You,

Lord, at times I have wondered off track. I want to be careful to follow Your commandments. Be merciful to me and help me start fresh today. Holy Spirit, you are welcome to guide my life.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

Attitude can transform anything and everything – thoughts, habits, and perspectives. We can literally change our lives by changing the way we think. In Isaiah 26:3 we find the promise, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, whose thoughts are fixed on You.” A mind filled with thoughts fixed on God will produce a heart filled with praise – and praise is a powerful tool in our spiritual arsenal.
