Meet our international panelist: Myron M. Beasley, Ph.D
Myron M. Beasley, Ph.D., serves as a professor of American Studies and Gender and Sexuality Studies at Bates College. He is the author of Performance, Art and Politics in the African Diaspora (2023). As a cultural critic, his research focuses on the intersection of gender/sexuality, art, and social change. Notably, his work emphasizes internalized colonial sexualities and gender performances within the African Diaspora. He has received numerous distinguished awards and fellowships, and most recently, he was honored with The Constance H. Carlson Public Humanities Prize.
Additionally, he is an international curator; his projects include the first Haitian Biennale, Dark’art, Print Post Power, Re.Past.Malaga and, most recently, Accra!
