It's been almost three weeks since our latest group of recruits completed their initial training package and many already see how a military regime develops traits that transfer to civilian life.

Recruit camps are a team effort, and while the learning curve is steepest for our newest members, the training packages also present opportunities for more experienced soldiers to develop.

Our Recruit Camp 26 Bravo cohort has been dismissed after a rigorous two-week foundational training package.

These recruits will move on to continuation training after the summer and consider which path their military careers might take.

Opportunities in the are many and varied, including in A Company where exercises cover infantry skills and security detail; Coast Guard, where crews protect inshore waters and provide search-and-rescue capabilities; Logistics Company, which keeps soldiers fed, sheltered and delivered to where they need to be; and the Band, our ceremonial heartbeat and a much-loved feature of public events.

A successful day on the range saw our Junior Leaders and Cadets putting their training into practice. From applying the fundamentals of marksmanship to maintaining the highest standards of safety, each participant demonstrated focus, patience, and professionalism.

Our newest recruits are finding their places and showing grit as they learn, grow and meet challenges head on.

More than halfway through Recruit Camp 26 Bravo and the progress is clear.
