𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗘𝗹-𝗦𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻-𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀
May 6 - The Embassy hosted a vital online meeting with Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs, H.E. Haneen El-Sayed, and International Aid Coordinator Ambassador Kabalan Frangieh, in the presence of Senator Nelsinho Trad, Head of the Foreign Relations Committee and of the Brazil-Lebanon Parliamentary Group in the Federal Senate.
The meeting brought together approximately 40 prominent institutional, business, and religious leaders from the Lebanese-Brazilian community who have contributed to the Embassy Crisis Response Unit’s “Support Lebanon 2026” Campaign.
Minister El-Sayed briefed participants on Lebanon’s current humanitarian situation and the government’s response to the ongoing crisis, while discussing current and future projects engaging the Lebanese-Brazilian community.
Joining Ambassador Elias Nicolas were Consul-General Joe Turk (RJ), Consul-General Rodrigue El Khoury (SP), and Lebanese Consuls from across Brazil, in addition to Dr. Anthony Moussa (former Economic Attaché at the Embassy).
Key Community institutional attendees included: Dr. Mohamed Zoghbi (President of Unidos Pelo Líbano and FAMBRAS), Mr. Marcus Efeiche (President of Monte Líbano Club-SP), Dr. Samer Farhoud (President of the Lebanon-Brazil Medical Association) accompanied by Director Dr. Fauzi Hamouche and board members, Mr. José Zaharan (President of Fuliban-Minas Gerais) and board member Dr. Frederico Aburachid, Mr. Guilherme Mattar (Secretary-General of the Lebanese-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo), Mr. Naji Farah (President of the Lebanese-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Northeastern Brazil), Adel Abou Rejeili (President of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce in Rio de Janeiro), Nelson Moufarrej (President of the Lebanese Federation in Rio de Janeiro), and Soraya Sad (Treasurer of the Lebanese-Brazilian Academy of Letters, Arts, and Sciences).
Religious Leaders: Maronite Archbishop Edgard Madi, Bishop Theodore El Ghandour (Orthodox-Rio), Bishop Moises Al Khosi representing Archbishop Damaskinos Mansour, and Sheikh Ali Al Khatib (Representative of Dar Al Fatwa).
