The Government of The Bahamas has tabled two pieces of legislation in the House of Assembly – the Climate Change and Environmental Advisory Unit Bill, 2025 and the Climate Change and Carbon Market Initiative (Amendment) Bill, 2025 – to enhance national coordination, accountability, and financing for climate action.

Together, the bills create a stronger national climate framework – positioning The Bahamas to better access international funding, oversee carbon markets, and continue its leadership on climate resilience and innovation.

The public is encouraged to review the bills in full.
