๐Ÿ•Š๏ธHonoring the Legacy of Ms. Renee Mayers ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

The Bahamas Agricultural Health and Food Safety Authority (BAHFSA) is deeply honored to recognize our beloved colleague, Ms. Renee Mayers, as the posthumous recipient of the Customer Hero Award during this year's Staff Appreciation Awards.

Although Ms. Mayers recently passed away, her legacy continues to live on through the countless lives she touched and the lasting impact she made on BAHFSA.

As one of the Authority's pioneering staff members, Ms. Mayers played an integral role in establishing BAHFSA and helping to build the strong foundation on which the organization stands today. She was widely admired for her professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to exceptional customer service. Her willingness to go above and beyond for every client set a standard of excellence that quickly became the hallmark of BAHFSA's service.

The customer service culture she helped cultivate continues to be emulated throughout the Authority. Even today, the high standard she established serves as the model for how we engage with our stakeholders with courtesy, respect, professionalism, and genuine care.

Accepting the award on her behalf was Ms. Yasmin Johnson, Director of the Plant Protection Unit, who proudly received this special recognition in honor of Ms. Mayers' remarkable contributions and enduring legacy.

While we deeply mourn her loss, we celebrate a life dedicated to service, excellence, and making a meaningful difference. Her influence will continue to inspire present and future generations of BAHFSA employees.

To the family, friends, and loved ones of Ms. Renee Mayers, we extend our heartfelt condolences and sincere gratitude for allowing us the privilege of working alongside such an extraordinary woman.

Congratulations to Ms. Renee Mayers on this well-deserved recognition. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of excellence will forever remain a part of BAHFSA.

๐ŸŽ‰ Staff Appreciation Day 2026 ๐ŸŽ‰

Last Thursday, BAHFSA proudly participated in an exciting Staff Appreciation Day Initiative spearheaded by Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, Hon. Jomo Campbell. The event brought together staff from our sister agencies the Department of Agriculture, BAMSI, BAIC, and BAHFSA for a day dedicated to celebrating the hardworking professionals who serve our nation's agricultural sector.

The day was filled with fellowship, sportsmanship, and friendly competition as teams competed in relays, tug-of-war, wheelbarrow races, egg-and-spoon races, and many other fun activities. It was a wonderful opportunity to build camaraderie, boost morale, and strengthen the relationships between our agencies.

Our BAHFSA team certainly lived up to the nickname "Dangerous!" a term affectionately coined to describe our competitive spirit and determination throughout the day's events. We are proud to have earned 2nd Place Overall, and we congratulate every member of Team BAHFSA for representing the Authority with enthusiasm, teamwork, and excellence.

We are also thrilled to recognize our outstanding 2026 Staff Appreciation Award recipients:
