During the briefing, the Authority outlined the investigation process, reaffirmed its independent role in advancing aviation safety, and responded to questions from members of the media. The briefing also served to keep the public and the wider community informed, maintaining public confidence through transparency and the timely release of factual information.
The AAIA also wishes to remind the public that its sole responsibility is to determine what happened, identify any contributing factors or safety deficiencies, and make recommendations to help prevent similar occurrences in the future. Our investigations are conducted solely in the interest of improving aviation safety. The AAIA does not apportion blame or determine civil, criminal, or administrative liability.
The public was also advised that a Preliminary Report will be released within 30 days of the occurrence. The Final Report will be released within one year of the accident. Both reports will be published on the AAIA website.
The AAIA remains committed to conducting a thorough, independent, and impartial investigation and will continue to provide updates, as appropriate, throughout the investigation.
