The Honorable Chief Justice Brian M. Moree, Q.C., addresses the official opening of the Legal Year with the vision to reform and modernize the judicial system .

“We have all had to reinvent our work processes , our long established work habits and our delivery mechanisms in order to discharge our judicial duties.”

Chief Justice Moree continued by expressing gratitude to all members of the judiciary and the court system for their hard work and ability to adapt to the changes 2020 brought.

President of the Bahamas Bar Association Khalil Parker called for the enactment of a parliamentary services bill.

“We cannot be reasonably asked to continue to lie upon or trust those who hold elected office not to abuse their powers.”

He continued by stating,
“We must and do insist that the rule of law is observed and preserved in spirt and in practice.”
